I used to have an S10 Jimmy, and had no problem calling it "the truck". Now, whenever I refer to the new Pat, I stumble a little. Is it "the car", or is it "the truck"?

The Patsy and the Compass are crossovers. Its a car designed to act like an SUV.

Its either the Jeep or the Truck to me and my friends. If we're refering to our multiple vehicles at once, "The Trucks." or specifically, "The Jeep, The fullsize, The Cherokee." etc. Somehow, my Patriot got 'The Jeep' over the Cherokee, but they're all trucks.

I believe I recall seeing a bumper sticker that read, "it's a jeep thing, you wouldn't understand" so there you have it--I call it the jeep or the wagen, but in my household it is the RED jeep, not the OLD jeep!

Truck, since I've only had a truck for myself since 1984. My wife has "the car" and my Buick is "the Buick".

Agreed. If it's built on a truck frame, then it's an SUV. Built on a car frame CUV.
The only "Jeep" to me anyway is the Wrangler design.....it doesn't fit into any car/truck/suv/cuv/wagon/convertable/ etc category.
