first off road trip

Yesterday, I took my Patriot for its first off road excursion in the surrounding appalachian mountains to a place named Grand Sault. There's a waterfall with a migration passage for salmons to go up stream. This summer, 983 salmons used it. My Patriot is a real mountain goat. I was impressed by its handling, suspension, road grip and traction. As you enter the trail a sign says «Danger, going at your own risk, not responsable for accident». The trail was closed part of the summer because of heavy rain and road slides. It's now open but it's rough and narrow in many places. Never felt so confident as in my Patriot. :smiley_thumbs_up:

My God, why does everyone but ME get to go to really cool locations like these??? *sigh*

Those are excellent pics!

And my scenery?? Corn and bean fields as far as the eye can see...sheeeesh!

Actually, you can go to the mountain of Olympus by 4x4.
I've heard that it is a very nice ride.
I'm planning to go there this winter.

Rends, I've noticed you own a Opel Zafira. How is it?
I was driving a Citroen Picasso 1800cc, and Zafira was my 2nd choice before I get the Pat. I'm wondering if I choose correct.

I've been to Egypt but still not to Greece. It is a dream destination. That moutain is gorgeous.Please don't forget to take pictures and post them!

By the magnificient colors of the leaves, is there an autumn in Greece???


By the way, wouldn't you wish «teleportation from a place to another on Earth, (Star Trek style), was possible for you and your Jeep Patriot.

Of course there is autumn here in Greece. But you must know that my country isn't as good as those dream-photos. I wish Greeks were half-polite as you.

I was a great fan of star treck !!! It took me about 2yrs as a kid to understand that teleportation doesn't exist!!!

Actually, I used to drive ONLY bikes before my lovely wife got pregnant (1.5yrs ago). She forced me to learn to drive car - and get a licence of course, because she couldn't drive anymore with our baby between her and the steering wheel. I can tell you that it was FUN learning to drive at age of 36!!
So, after I got my licence I bought a Citroen Picasso 1800 (family car), sold it after 8 months (excellent car - lots of space but boring), got a used 2001 Range Rover 4700cc. Rover was GREAT offroad but needed a gas station attached to work. I sold it (with great difficulty),

my daugter Stella was born...

...and on July I got my PAT.

I think we should start a thread about our motorcycles.

oh WOW! What big eyes she has! Beautiful. I remember the song" Stella by Starlight" I think from the movie "The Uninvited" . Congrats to you both, she's beautiful!
