It has been a while since this thread saw movement...

I read a recent post indicating a $21K vehicle should have an accurate clock. (I think the bottom end PAT radio is used in several CDJ+R models). The clock in my 1978 Camaro lost time too.

Not only does the clock in my 18 month old, 26K mile, PAT lose time, it has the following issues...

Air bubble in soft point above LH front arm rest
Air leak LH rear door by "C" pillar
Broken plastic cover on RH seat outboard side
Cruise control will not enable at times
Frump-frump-frump sound from front of vehicle
Multiple dash rattles/noises
Two outward facing dings (pings???) in the RH rear door panel

Some have been present from the beginning/very early on.

None of the above are major problems. However, my fear of dealership creating additional problems while trying to correct initial problems is. I know taking it in will not be a one trip to the shop repair deal.

You're absolutely right on that. I took my Pat for a wheels force balance but the next day I ended changing two wheel studs  Another example of "certified" technicians working at the dealership.

Hey mine too! Sorry to hear of the issues you've been having. I need to get my plastic seat cover changed before the bumper to bumper is up. And somehow I have only driven 3,000 miles since last December, so you finally caught up to me on miles

What was the reason for changing the wheel studs? How did you notice they were damaged? Where they both on the same hub? Did the facility that did the work replace the studs? How much of your time was wasted during this ordeal? Was it a CDJ shop or a wheel/tire shop?

I looked last night, I will go over 27K this weekend. I don't know if this seat plastic repair is an easy fix of not. Once the part is replaced, providing nothing has changed in the design of the part, it should fail again. Metaxa had his LH seat plastic fail and stated the seat bottom was replaced w/ stiffer foam during the repair. Nothing was done the his RH seat.

One of the studs snapped when I was trying to unscrew the lug nut. The other one was almost in the same condition but didn't snap. Both studs were on the same hub. I suspect it was CDJ as they were the last ones to dismount/mount wheels. I changed the studs myself as I came across the issue on Sunday and the dealership was closed. It took about 30-45 min to replace the studs including the trip to Kragen to buy the studs and lug nuts.

My Trooper had something similar happen and was designed about the same way, so I was expecting it to happen to the Patriot at some point. The plastic is too close to the seat cushion, so when getting out of the Jeep, if you slide out, all of your weight is going off the cushion onto that plastic trim, which can't support very much weight. A few times of that and it will break

Log Entry: PATDATE - 31912.5 - The 2011 PAT @ 29K miles started making occasional noise from the front end. Only noticed when turning from a stop or backing out of the garage after being parked for the evening. Has happened 3 or 4 times in past two weeks. Add sounds to the Frump-frump-frump.

30,036 miles - Replaced the spark plugs w/ OE plugs, gap set at 1.1 mm. Replaced the air filter w/ an OE filter. Installed the winter wheel/tire set. Changed the engine oil and replaced the filter - 5 quarts of Mobil 1 0W-30 and a NAPA 7060 oil filter.

I drove the PAT to work yesterday. No frump-frump-frump from the front end and it tracked like it was on rails. No pulling as before w/ the stock SR-As. Really quiet ride. I just need to bite the bullet and buy a new set of 3-season tires. The SR-As have about 25K miles on them. 1 of the 4 is about worn out.

No unusual front end noise since 14 NOV (I took a +650 mile round trip to SF on 19/20 NOV)... other than the frump-frump-frump that went away when I put on the winter wheel/tire set.

TJN - I hate to toss a set of 50K mile rated tires at 25K miles...

I may have to jump on this deal, a reduced price and a rebate...

That works out to $342.00 after the rebate, plus $56 shipping and no sales tax.

9008/H13 CrystalVision Ultra halogen bulbs don't last...

The 9008/H13 CrystalVision Ultra halogen bulbs arrived today.

Gee... I really wish I had a Patriot.
You will not regret those Philips bulbs. I have Philips Xtreme Power installed last fall and they were awesome ever since. Looks good and light output is just perfect.
I hope so. It was a toss up between the CrystalVision Ultra and the Xtream Power bulbs.

I am tired of feeding the two Avalanches a steady diet of $ilver$tars. They last about a year to a year and a half in the AVs (and they take four bulbs...).
21 months and I had a low beam filament crap out...
