Let me start out by explaining what I have.
Its a 4x2 2008 patriot with 218,000 miles on it. It needs new inner and outer tie rods, front control arms, rear struts, and rear control arms. It has a few small rust spots but is otherwise in really good shape and the inside is almost immaculate. It runs very well and has gotten me through a lot.
Here is the quote I got by the shop:

•Replace Rack and Pinion assembly w/ labor- $915
•Outer tie rods replacement- $165
•Control arm replacement w/labor-$445
•Alignment- $80

•$400-$600 for the rear work that I would do on my own.

Sooo....what do you guys think? Does that sound like a resonable/accurate price for repairs? And would that be worth it at the age and mileage of the vehicle?

"The cheapest car you'll ever own is the one you own today." What would a new car payment be? --and you will pay that every month for years to come.

Assuming they use good quality aftermarket parts instead of the less than reasonable Mopar suspension pieces, I'd say it's VERY well worth it.
