I read numerous posts on here about these Patriots vibrating bad in drive while at a stoplight mine does the same thing I've been chasing it all winter I'm just wondering if it really comes down to some type of electrical issue with some connectors because I know there's a relay box under the driver side that's not protected by the weather

My Patriot has had the shakes since the day I got it in '16. Hasn't gotten any worse or any better. I've rebuilt that relay box and redid all of the engine bay grounds. Since there's no codes/misfires/anything like that, I'm very confidant that my shakes are not caused by anything electrical. I've even had my trans & engine mounts replaced which didn't help. Seems to me that it's the torque converter, but I'm no trans expert. Also, back in '16 I test drove a brand new Compass before I decided on this Patriot, and it also had the exact same shake.

I was told it may be torque converter because they don't lock up in drive while at stop. But the vibration is less when I put in neutral

I usually shift into neutral if stopped for more than a few seconds. My vibration totally disappears.

Check your spark plug gaps first, mine did the same thing when I first changed the plugs but didn't know to check the gaps first.

I wonder if this could be improved with programing the computers differently with a proper scan tool. Has anyone tried the simple battery disconnect method to reset the computers to see if that alleviates any of the vibration?

Mine does some of the vibration, but not enough to be a concern.

Got to get a guage but I will check vpower copper spark plugs have 5000 miles so far. Also these 4 bangers in patriots are set to idle at 600 rpm one mechanic told me they should be at 8-1000. Keep says they can't change it

Same issue 2016 Patriot. I had the motor mounts changed twice now and the spark plugs changed twice. The issue is better for the moment after the last service, mounts replaced and spark plugs replaced. Will see how long that last.

I cleaned air intake, throttle body, clean PCV valve, new coils, plugs, check for vacuum leaks, all good. Mechanic says these pats for one are idled to low. Certain models are prone to torque converter not locking while stopped in drive. I'll ride it out.
