I'll wait for someone to chalk this feat up to the byproduct of politics :)

I'm not sure whether to find it disturbing that alot of that growth happened while Obama was golfing in the vicinity of the White House. Or just a case of "oh look, the ONE thing he did right!!!!!"

Had nothing to do with him, nor Trump, nor Bush, etc. EPA regulations allowed this - and refineries still continued to close and consolidate all within legacy regulations - and during this allowed production both drilling and processing to boom. Back when private companies could not figure out how to produce more oil by their inefficient drilling and processing methods - they blamed government regulations (not the case). They finally figured out about 15-20 years ago how to drill/frack oil more efficiently and process more efficiently ... look what happened! Sad that they blame the government for their downfalls as an industry yet their success they will take full ownership over.
