I'm thinking of purchasing a rooftop tent for a 2008/2009 Patriot.

From what I've found out the roof racks are rated for 150 lbs dynamic.

The tent I'm planning on getting is the TentBox Lite. It comes in at around 60 lbs.

So technically there shouldn't be any problems with weight itself. Has anyone had any experience in using rooftop tents on their Patriot? Most roof top tents come in at 100-200 lbs, so I'm wondering if anyone has had trouble with the roof, or has had to make adjustments and reinforce the mounting racks.

Do your rails have 2 or 3 contact point?
A side rail with middle contact point would be better
My roof rusted through at rear contact points
Not from tents but from kayaks
