Thanks Gramps. Been wanting to find this info.

The MK's have a 5 on 4.5" (114mm) hole pattern and 39mm (1.535") of offset on the 16X6.5 rims which = approx 5.25" Backspacing. See chart and more info here: https://www.rsracing.com/tech-wheel.html

The XJ also has a 5 on 4.5 hole pattern but the backspacing depends on which wheels you find.

Thank for the great info!

BTW - what is the offset of for the 17x6.5 rims?

Libertys(new) have the same bolt pattern, probably back-spaced differently as well.

a random post on jeepscanada.com (take it with a grain of salt):

"87-95 YJ's, 96-06 TJ's, 84-01 Cherokees, 02-98 Grand Cherokees and 02-07 Libertys all use 5 on 4.5" llug pattrern."

Polished,

Thanks for posting this..

One question that puzzles me. Do you think a rim with a more negative offset (sticking out further) is more or less likely to rub the plastic lip on a Pat?

As a real world example, I'm running some 16x8 (5"bs).. I tried tire size 255/65/16 and they would rub and on hard breaks would really rub.

On the contrary I am hearing of people running 245/70/16 (a taller tire but not as wide) on a 16x7(4"bs) with no rubbing on hard breaks. By contrast this taller thinner tire also seems to look wider on the truck as it seem to stick out.

Can anybody confirm, will this combination: 245/70/16 on 16x7(4"bs) rub on hard breaks or turns. At least one person is saying it only rubs on full lock and only in reverse.

thanks for any help or info!

The five spoke 17" aluminum wheels from the factory are 17 X 6.5J with a 39 mm offset. This is printed on the inside of the rim.

I measured a 5-3/8" backspacing, which is pretty close to the 5-1/4" backspacing that 39 mm is on the table above.

The centre hole (measured with a tape measure) is 67 mm. I might be off a mm or two.

Can anyone confirm this? It would be great to have a list of jeep rims that fit the patriot.

I read in another post that "any 16" and larger Wrangler rim prior to '07 should fit our Patriots. The Liberty went to a 5 x 5" pattern in '08, so anything from a '02 thru '07 should fit our Patriots. "

Can anyone correct or add to this?

Hi everyone,I think that it will be useful to share all of our failed experiments to save time an efforts to our fellow jeepsters: I tried some 15" Canyons and found out they hit the caliper in the front so we can not use them w/o spacers...
thanks Ramouroum!

THESE DO NOT FIT:

  • 15x8 aluminum
  • 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern
  • Backspacing = 5.5" - this is probably why they don't fit
  • Optional wheel with 30" tire package
  • Offset = +25 mm
