Hey guys I have a 2014 FDI of factory steel wheels.

Now I have a few buddies that have done different tire and wheel combos with their Pats. Now currently 3 of my buddies have the rro lift and running 245/75/16 with little to no rub. Those MTR tires measure 30.7 inches tall and 9.6 inches wide.

I have just purchased from ebay 215/85/16 they measure 30.5 inches tall but only 8.6 inches wide. Now in theory with them being 1 inch less in width I may not need wheel spacers.

I am in the middle of installing my rro lift and then I will fit the tires on my stock steelies.

YES Pictures are to come.

This is all in good fun to see if what fits and what doesn't work.

I will be banging out the pinch weld before I fit the Tires. Possibly needing to remove the Spring catch?? we will see.

Quick update,

Sorry for the time it's taking to get this finished, boss man has us working overtime this week.
I am off tomorrow and I will be finishing the install of my RRO Lift and then I will be mounting the 30.5 inch tires. Pinch weld and been flattened out and ready to fit the bigger tires again these tires are not the wide aggressive look. Im just trying to help with tire sizes that can fit under our Pats. Some time this Friday or Saturday I will have Pics posted.

After I get these installed I will change Wheels and tires and will go for 245 75 16 "30.7" tires. I would like to see more 31 inch options after that, I will try different 31's with a 15 inch wheel.

Can't wait to see pictures of this setup! 31" tires look great on the Patriot, anything else is just too small IMO.

I have 245/70r16 cooper ATP tires, but have been considering the 215/85 size as well instead of going 245/75r16.

I'd honestly prefer a 33x10.50x15 tire but my wife doesn't like like idea of trimming 70% of the fender away to make them fit.

245/70r16 with just over 0.6" of space between the top of the tire and the spring perch, can't wait to go bigger!

Nice Jeep,

I would prefer 33's but yea most of the fender would have to be modded. But hey going from a stock 27 to a 31 inch tire aint bad.

If your tire is that close I to the Spring perch I will go ahead and remove mine before mounting the tires. I know the guys running 245/75/16 had to remove/cut theirs off as well as a 1.25 inch wheel spacer.
I may have to get some hubcentric.

So, let's say you are needing to make a tight turn on the crest if a steep hump or terrace, do those tires rub in the front of the fender or is the lift large enough to compensate for coil compression?

Jeep Pat Tire Size 31's on factory steelies 215/85/16

Sorry I didnt update with Pics on Saturday but I ran into a problem. With that tall of tires and rally no offset by the wheel, the tires rubbed the bottem of the spring guard. So I cut the guard flang area that sticks out and the tire was able to go in but now the sidewall of the tire is touching the coil. I ordered a set of 4 1inch wheel spacers with 67.1mm bore
Hex Autoparts 4pcs 25mm 1" 5x4.5 to 5x4.5 (5x114.3) Hubcentric Wheel Spacers Adapters

I have attached some pics of the 31-inch wheel vs the stock 27.

f you purchase the lift on ebay its 250 instead of RRO charging almost 400

All together after the lift and tires and taxes it was $627

A soon as i get the spacers I will update and with more pics.

If you guys need any how to's opn how to install any of this stuff or how to cut the bottom of the spring guard let me know and I will update with more pics.

31s are on and is drive-able. only mod was the pinch weld and wheel spacers
Very cool! It looks like with that spring perch removed you could go taller/wider with the correct wheel offset.

Thanks,

Yes we could go taller and move to a 33 but what wear and tear will that cause on drivetrain??

I probably think not much if you find a lighter tire.

But then again may not get that tall of a tire because the back tires on both sides even with the lift are an inch away from the wheel well. this is would be the bottom corners of the back doors meet the wheel wheel.

Ill get pics up for a better under standing.
