Dear all,

i am new to this forum and as I own a 2008 patriot in The Netherlands I definitely need to source some information elsewhere. These are not so common vehicles in the Netherlands.

Now my front right axle needs replacement. I ordered the axle (part no; 5273438AE)

but as I received it the axle does not seem to include the shaft that goes into the transmission.

Should I be able to remove this shaft from the original axle? or did they supply me the wrong axle. It does not look removable on the original axle to me.

or could there be a possibility that I need to order the shaft as a separate part (which I cannot find in the jeeps parts book)

any help on this would be gladly appreciated.

2 WD and 4WD are different

Thank you for your quick reply. This is a 4wd, and I took the same partnummer except this ending with an E. (But I guess that doesnt matters)

The car is also a 5 spd manual. I am not sure if there is a difference between auto and manual. Parts websites are very confusing adding random axle pictures to their products.

Got the right axle this time 5spd transmission needs axle with 27teeth inside the transmission (not the 24 or so that is for cvt)

But the noise is still there, strange as I drove a short bit without the axle I did not hear the noise
