Maybe the grinding sound is from the spash guard rubbing the rotor? Or possibly some rust bubbles/rust jacking in the knuckle rubbing the outer cv housing? My passenger rear splash guard is rust jacking into the rotor and only made a scrape sound when turning left in a sweeping turn. It had bubbled out right where the ebrake drum edge was located. I was able to just hammer it back in flat to stop it but know it will return.
No, it's not the splash guards, or anything brake related. Hard to believe that I had forgotten about it making the grinding noise, I thought that had just started a couple of weeks ago. Guess my memory is falling apart as much as the rest of me.
I'm going to replace the front right axle and wheel bearing as soon as my body will let me. At this point, it doesn't look like that's gonna be very soon.
