I have a 2008 2WD North Edition with 45,000km. The warranty will be up end of March 2011. I have had a front ball joint replaced and a bolt holding the
left rear trailing arm fixed. Otherwise the Jeep has been problem free.
What do readers feel about purchasing an extended warranty? Also,
what sort of mileage are other Owners getting from brakke pads and rear shoes?

I bought it directly from Chrysler at about $900 less than what the dealer wanted. It cost me around $700 and Chrysler offered free 24 month financing. It is like an insurance policy to me. I plan on keeping mine 4-5 years or up to 75k miles. I can guarantee I will spend close to that on ball joints after the 36k warranty is up.

I purchased the extended warranty for 7 years or 100,000 miles. The one thing you have to realize when purchasing an extended warranty is that it's mostly commission for the sales rep. Don't settle immediately when they give you a price. The rep wanted $2400 but I talked him down to 1700. It was also free financing for a year. They have different packages I just wanted the longest warranty possible.
