does anyone know what the difference is and is there any difference in the parameters / dimensions of shock absorbers and coil springs between fd I, fd II, europe version, up to 2011 and after?

Pre-2011 FDI had same clearance as FWD models
2011+ FDI got the same springs as the FDII making ground clearance the same for both.
No idea on export versions.
Not sure on shocks either, I believe there was a change on the rear struts after 2011.

so, clearance changes are just from springs?

i found a few strut kits for pre-2011 and 2011+ and part numbers are different but couldnt understand why - riding quality or technical data(dimensions)

Yeah, mostly.

What sticks in my mind is the difference with using Stu coils. FWD and pre-2011 FDI got a 2" lift over stock, where as 2011+ FDI and FDII only 1".

What I remember was the rear struts being different, though I don't remember why.

checking monroe site for front strut kits after checking oem part numbers (all numbers are only for front left strut):
2010: oem 68051843AA and 5272925AB, replaced by monroe 472368 and 272368 tech specs:
Body Length13.040"
Compressed Length13.540"
Extended Length20.080"
Travel Length6.540"
2011: oem 5168165AB and 5168219AB, replaced by monroe 272951, 372951 and 172951 tech specs:
Body Length16.001"
Compressed Length13.440"
Extended Length17.570"
Travel Length4.130"
obviously body type of strut is different. B18 for 2010, B10 for 2011.
but can somebody with native technical english explain me what is body, compressed, extended and travel length?
all data is from monroe us site

Below is from Monroes site, showing the place on the strut where body, extended and compressed measurements are taken. Travel is just the difference between extended and compressed.

interesting why the movement(travel length) in 2011+ is smaller than ->2011
