Dealers may charge $450 and up for a drain / refill and filter change, independent shops are usually less.

Whoever is doing it, make sure they understand there are two filters; the pan filter and a paper filter in a cavity on the front side of the transmission (under the battery tray).
The paper filter is often missed, even by dealers, since it isn't mentioned in the CVT fluid change procedure in the factory service manual but it's very important that it gets changed as it's prone to clogging.

Thank-you so very much for your time and knowledge. Just realizing 07 Jeep Patriot 2.4, 4x4 is quite the machine. NEVER,NEVER again getting ahold of a used Jeep. Enjoying the challenges and knowledge gained just trying to figure "with you people's experiences ". God Bless you all🇺🇲🚞🤙!
