I recently bought a 2017 Jeep Patriot 2.4L Sport, Standard Transmission 4WD. It came with a lift kit already installed with tires that rub.

Within the first week, I noticed a knocking and found out the passenger side CV axle was failing. It appears the driver side is on the way out as well.

The mechanic says the axles are too short for the lift.

Does anyone have any recommendations or fix for this?

Welcome to the forum.

Not sure which lift is installed, or what size tires and where they're rubbing, but if you don't want to have repeat problems with the axles the best fix is removing the lift.

Depending on where it's rubbing, you may have to go to a smaller tire.

That's the usual story arc for lifted patriots. 1 get a perfectly good patriot. 2 ask about lifts. 3 get warned not to lift. 4. Get mad at the people recommending not to lift it. 5. Lift it anyway. 6. Instagram hero. Sh** eating grin optional. 7. The obvious problems everyone warned you about happen. 8. Remove lift or sell it to someone else while it still looks tough. 9 optional go troll patriot groups and call the Jeep a piece of dookie.
