Hi I went on a hour drive for work when I noticed the temperature gauge start rising this is the first time I noticed it above the middle line so I am concerned. After I noticed it happened again I went to get the coolant flushed hopefully that fixes it. I am planning to do another 30 to 45 minute drive to see if it fixed it if not what else should I do?

Hopefully the flush cleared and blockage in the radiator, but if it starts rising again try turning the heat on high to see if that stabilizes or reduces the temp. That could point to a clogged radiator. It could also be the secondary 203 degree thermostat is sticking.

Hi there. If you continue to experience concerns, we'd suggest a dealership visit with our support. Let us know if you decide to go that route and need support.

I did have them flush the system and it started to rise on a 30 minute drive again.

Try turning the heat on full blast when this happens to see if it helps. The secondary stat is supposed to open at 203 deg. F and if it's stuck it could explain the rise at highway speeds but not under the lighter load of low speed around town driving.

I replaced a radiator on my Neon a couple decades ago. It would do the same thing. Turns out i didn't get the clamp around the bottom hose just right and it was restricting the flow enough that it was overheating. I drove from Pennsylvania to Alabama and back with that happening.

I recently had mine overheat. Turning the heat on full blast lowered the temp. I have a couple of thermostats ordered and plan on doing a coolant flush. I've had it almost four years and I haven't flushed it yet and its untelling when it was done before me.

Have you changed the thermostats before I will look into it if it heats up again

I haven't changed the thermostats yet. They should come in tomorrow. Today the temp gauge creeped up past the halfway mark while driving it around town (I have some long hills). It went back down on its own and stayed at the halfway mark while sitting in a drive through. I don't think it should do that after driving it for only 10 minutes.

My car started to heat up again not as much as it was but it goes past the half way mark. Can anyone send me a link on how to replace thermostats. When it was over heating I turned the heat on and it went back to the middle so it helped.

Where did you purchase your thermostats.

When I did mine, I got both stats, the housing gasket and the waterpipe oring all from Advance Auto, they had them in stock. The orings come as a two pack for each end of the pipe, but you'll only need one for the housing end.
