I everyone,

My heat shield has fallen off and sitting on top of the muffler and so I'm looking at either replacing it or doing the pop can fix.

What I'm wondering is anyone has been able reach up and do this fix without removing the muffler. Or, if it's better to remove it, and if so, how can I go about doing that?

i did this! i had it out for a period of time then when cleaning i found very charred carpet so definitely don't take it out! The muffler just needs to be dropped to put that back up. Lift the rear of the jeep then take the two exhaust hangers off of the muffler and support the muffler with a stand or something then use washers to help fill the hole and put your bolts back on to secure the muffler and reinstall the hangars and you're golden!
