Good afternoon, my Patriot is knocking on a slight uphill when fuel pedal is applied, no knock when let off fuel pedal. This happens all the time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, welcome to the forum.

Any error codes or dash indicators (check engine, etc.)?

If it seems like an engine knock, maybe it's time for a new set of spark plugs, if they haven't been changed in the last 30k miles.

If it doesn't seem like an engine issue, maybe it's an inner CV joint going bad:

Here's a vid to show you how to check for excess plau:

I do have a P0705 (Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction), but this code happened well after the knocking started. I changed the plugs ensuring the gap was correct.
