I have what seems to be a somewhat common problem after reading some other discussions, but I have some twists. Long story short, my FRONT wipers on my 2015 patriot will not turn off. However they will go at the different speeds when I turn the knob - weird..My headlights still work fine, I have high beams, turn signals, etc. A few times though when I have turned on my fog lights ALL lights in my car completely turn off, I have to pull over and restart the vehicle to get them back on. The first time the wipers were stuck on over the summer they eventually stopped and I had no problems for about 4 months. But the possessed wipers are back! Any insight would help ?!

I have same vehicle and same problem. Wipers on (lowest intermittent) when car is on. Fog lights are just nutty. If I turn 'em on, they do their own thing; on and off, sometimes quickly flashing. Occasionally, the wipers will not be on, but if I turn on the fog lights, the wipers go back to same malfunction.

I've tried battery disconnect and brake pedal reset; sometimes they work, but problems return if I have to use wipers or fog lights.

I've tried every reset I could find in this forum and others.

Is my only option now, to replace the computer (TIPM)?

Before you go any further I would replace the control stalk on the steering wheel.

The wipers and fog lights are on different control arms. Do they connect to the same stalk inside the column?
They both feed into something called a Steering Control Module, which is inside the left multi-function switch (info below).

Both switches could be bad (most likely IMO), or a problem with the SCM, wiring, connectors, or instrument cluster, or TIPM.

If you want you can download a set of 2014 manuals here:

Thank you. While somewhat tedious to look and search thru (for a non-mechanic), it is a tremendous help. I appreciate you providing the link. Thanks again. ?

I have just started having this same issue on my purchased new 2011 Patriot Latitude Sport. I just replaced the stalk in the column because the wipers only had one speed, fast, and wouldn't turn off except by jiggling the stalk. Now I can control the speed except intermittent does not work and when I turn them off they stop wherever they are at. I have to turn on/off until I catch them at the bottom. Tried swapping the fuse/relay but it only stops them from working but doesn't fix the problem. This has frustrated me to no end. it is now a second vehicle, but I'd like to get it right since it only has 73,000 mi. and has been virtually trouble free except routine maintenance. Just replaced rear brakes and then this issue.

Where would I locate that G112 ground? Is it near the wiper motor? This is a rust free car except for surface peeling on the rear crossmember. I don't even want to think about the SCM and messing with the airbag and clockspring are not anything I have interest in doing at present. Thanks.

I found the ground wire by headlamp. Didn't appear corroded but disconnected and cleaned it. No change. They won't turn off even when key is off and removed. I have to move the wiper stalk around and it will eventually stop but not park until I catch it at the lower level by using the intermittent knob. I guess my next move will be to try a used wiper motor and headlamp switch even though the lights all work correctly. Aggravating for a car that to this point has been very trouble free.
