Hey I just got back from the 2009 Jeep Jamboree in Crandon Wisconsin and it was a blast.:pepper: Lots of jeeps from stock to fully tricked out there however only ONE Patriot.

The wife and I arrived thursday aftrenoon to the Jamboree headquarters at Mole Lake Casino and I already knew I was in Jeep paradise! (tons of Jeeps). We went and had to get Tech inspected before selecting trails to make sure we had all the required equipment (skid plates, tow points, tow strap, first aid kit, no fluid leaks, Battery tied down) to be allowed out. They are very saftey consious.

When they got to us both tech inspectors were to say at least surprised at seeing a Patriot but thought it was pretty cool and OK'd us up to moderate trails. They never saw a lifted Pat let alone one with rock sliders also. We signed up for the easy trails not knowing what to expect and for that matter neither did the trail guides. They hadn't seen or heard of anyone taking a Patriot to a Jamboree before.

We had a trail class the first half of Friday and the wife even played some on the obsticales they set up (she's hooked now). We decided this was a good thing to start at because it also gave the trail guides a first hand look at what the little Patriot could do. They were very impressed by the Patriots ability. Here's a few pics of the class we had in the morning the first day.

It was nice meeting you and your buddy thursday. :smiley_thumbs_up: Good to see you had some fun in Crantucky, Will. ;) First three attachments didn't seem to work for me though. Did you get any gruff from the other
jeepers? Do you think the moderate trail would be a good chalenge, for the Patriot? How was your stay in the area over all? Any trail damage?

Second Day

On the second half of the first day and all the second day we rode the trails. I chose the easiest 2-4 rating but we had 2 or 3 people not even go on the second day because it was too intense they felt. And they were driving Wrangler Unlimiteds! Heck they had more jeep than me and I made it through most of it. I did get high centered a few times and needed a tug but several did. Several of the Jeeps on the trail with me did get some dents and broken fender flares.

I can't say enough good things about the trail guides on ths trip. They are all very knowledgable about what they do and and are very patient with everyone. They are truly a great bunch of guys and gals.

It seemed by the second day we were the talk of the Jamboree. My friend who also went to the Jamboree with his stock TJ and has also been to Badlands with our Patriot group us said at lunch we were the topic in his trail group. He said that they were surprised the Patriot could do so well and had no idea that it could hang with the "big boys" as well as it did.

At the final banquet last night all the trail guides (about 15 of them) got to tell their stories about the last two days of trail guiding and the folks that were with them. Our guides we had Friday and a different one Saturday both commented to all about how well the Patriot did and even stated it took alot of guts to come out here and just prove some people wrong about the ability of this vehicle. They even presented us with a trophy at the banquet called "The Gutsy Patriot Award" I was truly humbled. I'm just glad that maybe a few hardcore off roaders could see what our Jeeps can do. It seemed that many were impressed.

Here are more pics.

Great to meet you and your wife too. Sorry I didn't get back to you but after the trail rides I was mentally and physically beat. Lots of very rough stuff cut right through the reservation woods no roads of any sort except ribbons tied to the trees. Guides made these trails for the last two months walking just taking a Jeep out to make sure it was what they wanted.

I was on the easy 2-4 the moderate 5-6 a FDII would have his doubts possibly. We had holes on our trail that guys with better gear than me could not get through. There were people there on the moderate trails with Wranglers that came with us after lunch because it was too rough. Many went around the real rough stuff. The FDII low range would have helped me but even they would not make it through what I passed.

Here is a couple pics of one of Jeeps in our group. He tried to go through this instead of going around it. 3-4 hole on a hill with a boulder on the driver side.
Also a pic of us standing in the hole after he was pulled out note where the back of jeep is compared to us. No one else in our group attempted ths expect one lady with an "07" Rubicon with front and rear lockers and made it. She pulled this guy out. Just had to know your limits.

Good Job!

Nice pics, Will_H.
Glad to hear that you had fun, and showed what the Patriot can do. I'm curious how an unlifted Patriot would have done.... Probaby high centred in a few more places.

Glad you got a chance to get out there and show them what a Pat could do. When I wrote to them about only letting it on trails of 1-2 i k ew they didn't know anything abou th Riot could do. Unfortunatley I haven't had the chance to get to one here but glad you had fun.

I guess Ken didn't bring his Pat?
No, the family went camping that weekend. Couldn't get myself to pay that much to go wheeling in my backyard. Although it looked like a lot of fun, and getting to spend time with other Jeepers, I would gladly pay to go wheeling in an other area. That is why most locals don't participate in the Jamborees. Although it would have given me a reason to get out and go wheeling again....:smiley_thumbs_up: Glad someone was able to represent though!:)

Hello. Searching for 2009 Patriot and found you, but the pictures were taken down. Is this event every summer or does move from place to place?
