Looks good. Didn't think much would change in the 08 model year. Looks like I will be buying an 08 Model this fall since production is due to start 23 Jul 07. Thanks for the info. What site did you get the info from?

I see no mention of heated mirrors. :p

I'm interested to see what Surf Blue Pearl is...although I'm still dead-set on Steel Blue.

And the addition of the orange will make some people happy. (It's just not-for-me)

I think that the only thing that changes for what I plan to order (pretty much a manual Limited just about fully loaded, minus the additional speakers, and keeping a basic radio) is the Homelink thing. What is that?

Do we have any idea when the new catalogs will be available for the 2008s?? I'll have to get one to update Hubby. I'll probably be placing my order in Dec 07 or Jan 08...

I'd like to see the new blue as well.....but I'm stoked that they have the new orange color. I'm guessing it will look a lot like the SEMA version of the Patriot we saw last year!

I run the WJ/WK/XK Jeeps.com sites and have access to advance info on other models as well.

I did not see heated mirrors listed for 2008, and don't seem them on the '09 schedule either, not sure why they are not being offered. HomeLink is the Universal Garage Door Opener feature.

Catalogs are usually printed in early August...

I am thinking the orange would look like this

It would be cool to have the black out grill, black out rims and the light bar/rack combo on top (if they would build it that way!!!!) That looks really neat!

Thanks...looks like I'll be sticking with the Steel Blue. I just love that so much..

Here's a thought...if Jeep were to decide down the line to add heated mirrors to a later year model (say 2010?)...would those of us that bought earlier year models be able to get them installed on ours?

I am really glad to see that orange is now an option. :D This color is available on a lot of the Patriot's competitors, including the Honda Element and the Suzuki SX4. I read somewhere (I think on Edmunds.com) not long ago that some survey found that color choice can be a deal-breaker for as much as 20% of new car buyers. So I think it is very wise of Chrysler to add this color.

The sunset orange I presume will look identical to the Dodge Calibers currently on the road with the sunset orange paint.

Not long ago I was very disappointed that orange was not an available color for the Patriot, but I decided that I liked the khaki and would go for that. I've started really liking the idea of khaki, and now the orange will be available after all! :icon_rolleyes: So now I have to make a decision!

I also am looking forward to seeing the Surf Blue in real life. I've always thought that Jeeps looked better in lighter colors because it provides a nice contrast to the darkness of the grill slots.

Do we know if there is going to be a change in the base price? I'm wondering about this since they are adding a $950 option (air cond) to the base model.

Both the blue and the orange can be seen on the 2008 cali

Go to the dodge caliber website, then go to build 2008 caliber and you can see that blue.... on a vehicle... let alone a jeep?

I think I will wait for an 08' patriot, we can order them as soon as production starts... I want an orange one... I love the version posted, and plan on doing something very similar...

Was driving next to a Caliber in that color last week and it really looked sharp. Don't think the blacked out grill works Huntysraws. Breaks up the design too much. The black bumpers do work and they add a massiveness to the front. Gives me a feel for how it would look with Rhino bumpers.

Interior Upgrade?

Thanks for the list, Milous. Any word as to whether the interior plastics (texture, quality) will be reworked/upgraded? tia

I'm curious about price also. With everything from the current Driver Convenience Group ($515) coming standard on the Limited, as well as the UConnect ($275), will the the base price of the Limited go up an additional $790?

Also, whats the difference between the current black exterior paint and the new "Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl"?

maybe they can charge 100 dollars for "brilliant" instead of just black
so your paying to have a brilliant black car

I have not seen any interior pics yet but I doubt there will be any texture/quality changes this year.

Finalized pricing for many new vehicles is usually announced until closer to the production launch, and in some cases even after launch. This is so that "current" market conditions and costs can be factored in. I am not sure when they are going to announced Patriot pricing other than it will most likely be after June 1st. No idea on how they will be pricing the '08 model, it can be hard to compare pricing with the prior model year as they move options around so much.

There is no Driver Convenience Group for 2008. The new Security and Cargo Convenience Group will be optional on the Sport "E" package and also optional on the Limited.

The "Brilliant Black" has pearl specs in the paint, giving it a very slight "gray" look, although it still very much looks Black. It's kind of hard to descibe, but it's used on a lot of current Chrysler model vehicles, and has been used on Jeep vehicles in the past. If you compare side by side you can really see the difference. Some people like it, some prefer the standard Black.

is the exterior gonna change?
Not that I can tell...

I don't suppose you would like to give us a heads up for what you do see on the '09 schedule???? Not that I don't appreciate the info on the '08...but you did dangle the carrot a little.

With the new 80.1% stake ownership of the Chrysler group announced today - who knows what '09 will or will not bring - certainly, "the rules have changed".

We can order them on June 11th? Nice! I was thinking of taking an 07 I saw yesterday, everything I wanted, except the speed control, but it was black. Its hard to wait when your driving an 00' ranger...
