12 fwd cvt sport 90k mi bought it new. towing package including oil cooler.
1st oil change at 3700mi to m1 filter & 5w20 oil. changed religiously, by me because mobil offered lifetime motor warranty ;). not a noob but i know 2 lube the ring & fill the filter w oil 1st & hand tight on filter. yes i have all receipts.
doesnt burn oil at all. no oil or coolant leaks inside or out. removed hoat & replaced in '18.
new pcv valve a year ago.
now for the rest of the story:
i know about the cold "dieseling" issue when its cold but mine started a ticking or light knocking this february (coldest month here). i only drive 2 mi to work each am so i am forced to idle it to warm it up. it did have emulsion on the cap so i cleaned the sponge in the airbox & took it for a 2 hr drive.
i had the cat recall awhile ago & i just noticed the cat gasket (4 hole) appears alot older than it should. did the dealer reuse my old gasket? just in case i bought a new 1 and am replacing asap. or maybe its the manfold gasket?
it runs ok & pretty quiet when warmed up but i can def feel more vibration in the wheel driving now.
anyhow, anyone have any good ideas for diagnosing my pats problem? theres no dash lights on either.

When is the last time your spark plugs were replaced. That's where I'd start.

aware of the spark plugs. 1st set were toast well before 30k. just replaced 4th set at 90k. this jeep eats them up. last dealer copper plugs were overgapped after 20k mi. went to ngk because dealer wanted $12 each for new copper plugs.
