    Jeep Patriot General Discussion
I have a 2009 Jeep Patriot with 79,000 miles. It is the 2.4 liter version that is not 4x4. I bought it 3 weeks ago and really wanted to be in love with it. I checked the carfax before I bought it and the person seemed to keep up with all the servicing on a regular basis so I felt like this...
  2. Spark Plugs

    Jeep Patriot General Discussion
Has anyone else changed out there spark plugs at the suggested intervals and found (repeatedly) that the electrode is all but nearly gone and the gap is massive? Usually my mpg by this point is pretty poor too. This has been the case for me and I can tell when the plugs are starting to get to...
  3. Dash displaying incorrect MPG

    Jeep Patriot General Discussion
Just got a 2007 Patriot Limited 4WD. I noticed that the dash display is showing the incorrect MPG. At first, I thought something was wrong with the jeep. It was displaying 17mpg after I reset it and drove about an hour on the highway. I used my OBD tool to display real time MPG as well as...
  4. MPG Problem please help!

    Engine and Drivetrain
So I have a 2014 4x4 latitude and have not been getting the greatest gas milage. It jumps from anywhere from 15mpg-23mpg both city and highway driving. I do not drive like crazy in the least bit either, I try and stay around 2000rpms and rarely make it to 3k. I just past 5k miles and was hoping...
  5. Mobil 0w-20

    Engine and Drivetrain
Anybody run the Mobil Ow-20 synthetic in their Pat? I used it in my old Ram to a pretty good MPG and Power increase. Just wanted to see if anyone got some experience with it. And to Nip it in the bud... Yes 0w-20 meets and exceeds 5w-20 req's.
  6. Rpm at highway speeds

    Engine and Drivetrain
Quick question. I have a 13 patriot with the 2.4l and a 5 sipped gearbox. On the highway at 70mph I'm running about 2600-2700 rpm. Is this the norm? I'm averaging only 22-23 mpg but only have 2000 miles on the vehicle so I'm sure it'll go up soon due to engine break in.
  7. 17 MPG?

    Engine and Drivetrain
Hey guys. First post. Have a general concern. The manual (as well as sources in this forum) state that newer vehicles don't really have a "break in" period any longer. I've had my 2012 Patriot Latitude, FD1 for just over 1,500 miles. I've yet to achieve an MPG greater then 16.5. For a vehicle...
  8. LPG

    Jeep Patriot General Discussion
Hi everybody, I have been reading a lot on the forum but haven't actually posted something so here it goes :pepper: I converted my Patriot to LPG roughly a month after I bought it and I have to say I am very pleased. I bought a system from Prins (dutch company). Obviously my cars mpg went...
  9. idle gas consumption

    Jeep Patriot General Discussion
I have started a log of miles of city driving, highway, and idle time. My last tank came to about 5 hours of idle time. Whether that is sitting at a train, stop sign, chilling, etc. My nav unit keeps track of this whenever the jeep is on. I am trying to see how much fuel is actually being...
  10. height vs. width?

    Suspension and Tires
I was thinking the other day when we were all discussing tires about the width of a tire affecting the mpg of the pat. Granted I know it will affect it some but how much? It should cause as much impact as a taller tire should it? thoughts? comments? experience?
  11. Weird engine noise during warm up

    Engine and Drivetrain
I just bought a new 2011 patriot - latitude 2.4L 4x4 and when I start my engine it sounds weird for the first few minutes. It is louder like i can hear the pistons going up and down or something. Once it warms up a bit though it sounds fine like any other engine being on. Has anyone else...
  12. UltraGauge OBDII Scan Tool and Info Center

    Electrical and Audio
I have a 2011 Patriot Sport 4x4 that came with power windows and locks but otherwise fairly basic. My wife's car is a 2010 Ford Escape with pretty much every option-one being the current mpg/avg.mpg/distance to empty/etc. gauge. I had been looking for a way for my jeep to have something...
  13. EVIC versus real MPG

    Jeep Patriot General Discussion
There has been some talk about the accurancy of the EVIC fuel consumption reading. I've been calculating my real consumption for some time now (using form: litres needed for full tank / distance traveled x 100) and here are the results: (I also did MPG conversions for you US folks, manually...
  14. How many of you track of your MPG?

    Jeep Patriot General Discussion
Here is a poll to see who is tracking their fuel economy. I found using Fuelly is a breeze from my phone using I know some people aren't interested in using it, but I am curious to see who does and who does not track their economy.
  15. 2009 Patriot just bought lift

    Newbie Check-In
I just bought my 2009 Jeep Patriot, I was wanting a Wangler but it was a commpermise with my wife.... you know how that gose. Anyway part of the agreement was I could lift the Jeep, right now it is all stock and I am getting 25 MPG which is great cause I drive 88 miles round trip a day. I am...
  16. 3700 miles and I'm still getting 19mpg city...what do I look for?

    Engine and Drivetrain
I"m not gunning it, I'm shifting generally below 3K on the tach....could something be wrong with my FWD 09 manual Pat? I'm REALLY disappointed with the gas mileage, especially for a stick. No snow yet, not that cold. Yes it is city driving but so what? I should be getting better. When it was...
  17. Poor Gas Milage out of Jeep Patriot

    Jeep Patriot General Discussion
I just bought a used 2008 4x4 jeep patriot with 32,000 miles and went on a road trip. I drove from Wichita to Albuquerque on the highway, i stayed a speed of 85mph most of the time. At the end of the trip i compared the gallons used and mileage went and i was only getting 20mpg. I was...
