Has anyone removed the CVT Cooler Filter? I’m considering making this change. Here are some Advantages/Disadantages that I came up with.
More flow to the Cooler.
No chance of flow restriction due to a contaminated filter.
No future maintenance.
All Mk's with a CVT have a factory transmission cooler, but there are differences depending on options: No A/C, With A/C, and FDII.
I have the factory trailer tow package with the larger cooler (#3). I think this may have a lot to do with my CVT whining some, but never getting the over temp...
I am looking to get a pop-up camper. The thing is, it weighs about 1,870lbs. I am sure I'll be able to pull it, but is the oil cooler really necessary? I know the dealer is going to charge a buttload to put it on and I think I can do without it. Opinions anyone?
