  1. Beach driving - no worries

    Australia
Yeh I was happily surprised - looking to get some bigger rubber soon too but given I only drive on the sand I'm going to steer away from the aggressive tyre tread and go for an all rounder - I reckon the aggressive treads actually dig in to sand sometimes. How do the Cooper at's go off road ?
  2. Help - shuddering/ wobble under acceleration

    Engine and Drivetrain
Well, update for you all.....my case just got a little more concerning. Took off from home yesterday and 200m down the road I had the wobble as per normal but then the yellow ESP warning light came on ( little skid marks behind the car logo ) and under only slight acceleration (and dry road) and...
  3. Beach driving - no worries

    Australia
Just got back from my first beach adventure, went to the soft sands of lancelin. Took a Subaru forester owning mate along and have to say, we were both massively impressed with the patriot's ability off road. We let tyres down to 18psi, ESP turned off and attacked some deeply rutted and soft...
  4. Help - shuddering/ wobble under acceleration

    Engine and Drivetrain
Thanks guys, although I'm not happy with the answer it is comforting knowing the problem. Guess it's easy on the gas now, iv noticed the last 2 days when putting power on progressively it's lessened the severity of the wobbling. Can't believe I didn't come across this earlier - I searched these...
  5. Help - shuddering/ wobble under acceleration

    Engine and Drivetrain
Hey Reno - I'd appreciate a little more information regarding this ..... I'm yet to speak with any mechanic and it would help save time trying to diagnose the problem . There are next to nil lifted patriots here in wa so mechanics at jeep dealers unlikely to have come across this before - has...
  6. Help - shuddering/ wobble under acceleration

    Engine and Drivetrain
Yes, alignment was done at the time but can have that checked to tick that off easily. Pat is a 4x4 with cvt petrol
  7. Help - shuddering/ wobble under acceleration

    Engine and Drivetrain
Hey all, just got back from my first trip away in the new pat, had the lifted stu coils fitted then off the next day for a 5 hour trip to the surf. When I got back and drove around the back streets the car has developed a bad 'wobble' which is felt through the accelerator and steering wheel (...
  8. What have you done to your Patriot today?

    Jeep Patriot General Discussion
Had a set of stu's coils fitted today - achieved 2 inches of lift all round and handling is far superior, just took it out in the first rains of the year and front end gripped better than before even when pushing it around corners hard- very impressed. Plenty of room for phase 2 - bigger rubber !
  9. Suspension lift Perth

    Australia
Well, couldn't find any long travel shocks but the guys at wa suspensions got the job done and the pat is now riding high ! Achieved 2 inches at front and back ( wheel guard measure ) it's a shame but still only 9.5 -10 inches clearance under the front underbody, beach work is gonna be...
  10. Another Faulty Ball Joint :o(

    Jeep Patriot General Discussion
Hey guys what are some of the symptoms / effects of these parts wearing ? I ask because iv just bought a patriot with 66k and I'm noticing a clunking noise when accelerating, braking, and even over some bumps- its coming from from front driver side and it feels like something in the suspension...

  12. Long travel shocks to suit stu's lifted coils

    Suspension and Tires
Hey all, has anyone got some advice regarding fitment of longer travel shocks ( mainly for the rear ) to suit the lifted patriot with stu's longer springs ? I'm in Australia so local brands preferred - just wondering whether this is necessary or are stu's coils just the same length as stock...
  13. Suspension lift Perth

    Australia
Looks like I'm heading to wa suspensions in Ozzie park. Looking into extended shocks for the rear end to try and get some additional 'hang' from the rear- has any replaced their rear shocks and found a longer alternative shock ?

Ordered a hid headlight conversion, 2 inch spring lift and 1 inch wheel spacers .... And now the suspense is killing me !!
  15. SKID PLATES

    Australia
Unfortunately no answer for you here but am interested in knowing where you sourced the skid plate from ? And price ?
  16. FD1 and FD2 in oz

    Australia
Crazy - majority of our sales are diesel I reckon.....biggest problem was they don't make an auto in diesel in Australia (not sure about elsewhere) - and 90% of sales in diesel in this class are auto
  17. FD1 and FD2 in oz

    Australia
I can't comment on whether it's better off road than a forester yet - I haven't had a chance to take mine off road yet and not willing to until I get the lift kit fitted in case I'm bellied out on the beach ! Foresters do go well on sand which is all I'll be doing, and the pat is only 100kg...
  18. Suspension lift Perth

    Australia
Hey guys, have just arranged shipping of my lifted stu springs from Murchison products, bought my wheel spacers and H.I.D conversion kit from eBay and researched long travel shocks for the rear end. My question is - does anyone know of a reputable suspension installation company ? I've spoken...
  19. FD1 and FD2 in oz

    Australia
What a bummer - considering Australia is crying out for a capable competitor to the Subaru forester it's something that would be welcomed with open arms if it were available here.....particularly in diesel (are u listening Jeep marketing / product people)
  20. FD1 and FD2 in oz

    Australia
This is probably a little basic for some but in the Australian patriot were we lucky enough to get the FD2 specified vehicle ? Looking through the us forum there is a lot of talk about 'low range' gearbox, skid plates at the front end and lifted springs .......did we see any of this here in oz ?
