Averaging my last 12 fill ups (6 months) I'm getting 8.7L/100kms and almost alway over 500kms per tank. I do mostly city driving but I take it easy and shift between 2000-2,300rpm. I only use the A/C if it's really hot or I have passengers. I use ESSO gas and switched last month to 100% synthetic oil. I expect the figures to be worse once the cold weather hits again.

My first 6 month (June - Nov) = 9.4L/100kms 5,000 km
Next 6 months (Dec - May) = 9.8L/100kms 10,000 km
Last 6 months (May - Oct) = 8.7L/100kms 15,000 km

2008 Patriot Limited, 4x2, 5-speed.
Averaging about 9.8L/100kms
Mostly city, shift gears at about 2,500 rpm, minimal A/C, ESSO regular gas.
Mobile 1 100% synthetic - Motor Master filter.
Undercoated by the dealership.
Mods: Black muffler, cargo netting, A/C filter behind glove box, Husky floor liners.
Good Year Ultra Grip Ice on 16" steel for winter

I am getting about 22 MPG. My biggest complaint is the size of the gas tank. For long distances in the midewest you have to fill up to many times.

Prouldly owner of a 2 week old Patriot 2009 FWD manual.

On my second tank, I got a nice 540 km, and I refilled with only 45 litres, just 14 km after the gas light has lit in the cluster. 70% Highway, 30% city.

I'm very happy with this mileage.

Jeep Patriot 2009 Blue FWD manual, Imposter front chrome grill, chrome door handles and mirror cover, Imposter chrome wheels skin, chrome PATRIOT bumper insert, chrome PATRIOT 3rd brake overlay, Husky liners all over, XM satellite radio.

I've had the Patriot for around 2 weeks now, and I've averaged 9.35L/100km with the first 2 tanks. This is with a CVT FWD and 60% hwy. Hopefully it just keeps on getting better!

I just did a 3,000 km road trip, converted every thing back to imperial gallons and miles, and figured I got 31 miles per gallon. 50,000 km on the Patriot

It seems that the pariot is very sensitive to driving conditions. Just last month I drove to chicago from toronto and it averaged 9.3L/100km and on the way back it averaged 10.8L/100km. I took the same route both ways. The only difference that i felt while driving was when heading home it seemed i was driving against the wind oppose to on the way to chicago it seem there was no wind at all.

I have a 07 Pat Sport 4WD CVT 31000K. I get 34MPG (Imperial) 2WD & 30MPG 4WD Highway, mixed local & highway 27MPG. When engaging Transmission I get a slight whine, is this normal with a CVT. I am thinking about changing to Sythetic Oil (engine). Any thoughts about this. Viking12

How can you tell when its in 2x4 or 4x4 only the transmission knows that? Unless you lock it down into 4x4.

new Patriot owner - 3 fill-up's

We used to own a Dodge sx (2.0litre manual 5 speed) and it averaged 8.4l/100kms. The best we ever got was 6.1l/100km.... wish I could still get that, but knew that we would be spending more on gas now that we have the Patriot (2.4litre manual 5 speed).
We are averaging 10l/100km now and I hope it will get better. We've only had it three weeks now and we've been in one parade so that has certainly hurt the mileage.

I average about 450km a tank. My record is just shy of 550km and my worst is about 400km. I have the cvt.

I am lucky to get 325km if it is all highway. Some tanks are about 280km. The dealership tells me it is so low as I am in the break in period, and that by 15,000km it will be better. I currently have 3000km on my Jeep.

I find this to be just horrible. I am at the gas station almost every day. I can barely make it to my cottage on a tank of gas!

I was hoping that computer reprogramming issue that was posted on here would help this out, but the dealership said I have the most up to date software version already installed.
