Warning chime

I've been having an issue with my Jeep intermittently. Sometimes when I shut of the ignition and open the door, I get the warning chime as if I left my lights on. I've double checked to make sure the lights or high beams were NOT on. I don't know if it is related or not, but also when I start my Jeep sometimes it takes a second before it turns over (i have read and heard from a few people that this is normal). I plan on taking it to the dealer to have it checked out. I was just wondering if anyone had any input.

Is your key still in the ignition (even in the off position -- no battery power whatsoever) when you open the door? If you have the EVIC it should tell you what's wrong/why it's chiming, but the Jeep will chime if the driver's door is open even if the key is in the off position.

No, this happens when the key is out. I'm almost positive the interior lights are off. I'll double check that.

I checked to make sure the interior lights were indeed off.

Just an update to anyone interested. In the past month, the jeep really started acting up and having the issue every time. I took it to the dealer and showed them the problem. They had to order a "totally integrated power module/controller". It's fixed now and working as expected.
