Ticking sound when engine is shut off

I have a 2015 Patriot. When I shut off the engine, a ticking sound appears and stops. Anyone have any issues like this? Has 16k on it. 4x4, not off road yet. Has the 6spd.

Likely the exhaust system components cooling off. Mine does it too.

Every single patriot and compass ever made makes this sound, so it's completely normal. I have no idea what exactly causes it though

exhaust cooling down. Totally normal. A lot of cars do this.

Are you hearing like 4 or 5 distinct clicks immediately after turning off the engine? That's the sound I was talking about before. I know what the exhaust clicking/popping sounds are, you do hear those on all cars, but the sound I was talking about I think is specific just to the patriot/compass

On mine I can hear things like fuel pump shutting off, vents closing, etc just after I turn off the key.

I agree with griff. When I shut my 2015 off which I bought last week I can hear vents closing and other various noises.

Re:Clicking after engine is shut off

I'm glad someone posted this, I have been wondering if it was normal or not.
So I turn my key off and then from the engine area I hear a distinct, click, click, click, click. I know what the vents sound like when they all close up and this is a totally different noise altogether coming from outside.
At first I thought I was low on oil and was hearing the lifters but sounds like it's normal or the Pat.

I hear the exact same thing. No idea what it is either.

This video should confirm what we're all hearing

From owning VW's I would guess something to do with throttle body alignment but I don't know if these have that much tech in them. Lol

I just realized that it makes this sound when you turn the ignition to on but don't turn on the engine. Maybe it does have something to do with the throttle body then, because the throttle control light comes on when it makes this sound

I hear a few very faint clicks on my 2014, but nothing like the video.

Also, the idle speed on the video seems to be very high.
