Ride: 2011 Jeep Patriot FDII 70th Anniversary Edition
The_Jeep_Life is on a distinguished road
3 Years of Dreaming

For three years I have been wanting a Patriot, at long last the dream came true!

I would like to introduce for the first time my 2011 Jeep Patriot FDII 70th Anniversary Edition.

I called to conclude the deal last Tuesday and picked it up on Friday. I would have liked to pick it up sooner but with working out of town for 12ish hours a day didn't leave me with much options. Well since this is my very first NEW vehicle I would like to tell you all the story .

I first spotted my Patriot last year while driving past the lot and stopped to look at it. I was very impressed with the interior and the colour of the 70th Anniversary. Many months later I went back to the dealer to look at ordering a 2012 or buying an older 08 and was talking with the salesman about this nice 70th Anniversary that I had seen a while back. He said they still had it and asked if I wanted to look at it. After looking at some numbers I walked out because I only just started looking at dealers and didn't want to jump on the first deal I saw. So I started dealing with a couple of dealers and getting numbers from all of them to compare. I had my Uncle call the first dealer to see if he could get me a better deal on the 70th (he is very familiar with this dealer and has bought many a vehicles from them, including a Furious Fuchsia
Dodge Challenger R/T Classic, it appears the only one made without a sunroof.) . They did lower the price on the 70th from when I first talked with them so I went to the dealer with my support group, father, girlfriend, best friend, to see if I could play hardball and get the price lowered even more or have the dealer risk losing a customer. This was a big failure the dealer stood strong and so I walked. Anyway to get to the point the other dealers were really screwing me with my trade in value and I was getting this 70th (limited) for the price of brand new north. So I made the call and began my wait (4 days, I feel sorry for you that had to wait approx. 3 months).

I drove it home and got it all dirty (melting snow). Before I picked it up I got them to add splash guards and utility cross rails.

For its "maiden voyage" my dad and I took her up to Saskatoon this past weekend to watch the Brier.

It had 32 km when I first picked it up (10 km was from my first test drive when I walked away). It now has about 700 km I believe. My first legit gas milage was 19.6 mpg . A lot lower than I expected. That was pretty much all highway going 100km/h - 110km/h and a bit of easy city driving. To my understanding I believe that new vehicles take a while to get into their groove and improve either gas milage, fee free to correct me.

Details about my jeep are as follows:
2011 Jeep Patriot 70th Anniversary Edition
FDII off road group
430 Media Center (without nav)
Utility Cross Bars
Jeep Molded Splash Guards
Bronze Star Pearl

I think I have attatched a picture from when I first walked away. I will try to get more pictures up when I get home.

Thank you all for reading and I look forward to "officially" being apart of this forum .

Bronze is the best!

Congrats on the new Pat. The bronze is a very unique color and goes great with the 70th interior. If you didn't get the Uconnect you can add it later, it works well with the 430 radio. Welcome to the Bronze 70th FDII club.

Welcome to the club...I have had my 2011 North Black FD1 for almost 6 months now and still am very pleased with my choice.
PS I heard the Briar was really good - my sister in law flew out there and just retunded yesterday from it....

Welcome!!! Nice to see another SK member, I"m in Saskatoon.

A coworker of mine has that exact jeep except for the FDII option, very nice indeed.

Thanks, I forgot to mention it has uConnect. I feel as though we have few members in our club :P.

The brier was fantastic. Jamie Koe signed my buddies wife's boob at the patch on Saturday. It is a shame Alberta didn't play the final game to their full potential. Big Pat Simmions fan since I know him pretty well and have spared for him a couple of times.

When I first picked up my Jeep from the dealer I had to take it out of 4x4 lock. I have noticed through my extensive dealer visits/test drives the dealers use 4x4 lock quite prematurely. Also in the owners manual it does not give any reference to the awd aspect of the Patriot, makes it sound like it ONLY powers all four wheels with 4x4 lock engaged.

Thank you all for your welcomes. I hope to clean it soon and get some more pictures up. Maybe do some off roading in my first week of ownership.

At the end of the day it is still a Jeep.

Poor milage

So I am nearing my second fill up and I am not really impressed with the milage. I am getting close to 20 mpg highway. Any imput on this? Does it get better or is this normal for the FDII?
