Patriot ball joints

After reading through some of the posts, I can't help but to notice there was (is?) a problem with the Patriot's ball joints. We own a 4X2 2011 model; has the ball joint problem been corrected? What would be the average cost of replacing the ball joints? Thanks for everyone's help!

If I might add to the question, is there any PM that can increase the life of the ball joints and safely extend that replacement period?

To Elaborate on this Question

Wondering if any owners pre-dating the 2011 model year are witness to the "advertised" improvement in the suspension components of the 2011/2012 models? Did Jeep use a better design or more durable parts, or maybe even improved quality control to reassure a new owner?

Thanks for any info.

My 2007 is making lots of popping sounds from the front end in various positions. Dealer looked at it and found nothing wrong. It's getting worse and I had another shop look at it yesterday, nothing found. So I'm going to investigate further, but not sure what's going on. 60k miles. Might be a bad strut.
