I know the post is a few months old, but i'm wondering why a Relay wasn't needed? I'm looking at adding the exact same thing (fog lights with external switch) but all the other posts seem to mention including a relay somewhere in the install. Whats the purpose/benefit of one, and is their any damage that could be done without one?

Without a relay you would need to run a wire to the interior that was of the correct guage to flow ALL the power for BOTH lights. And a switch with similar capabilities. In the described setup you only need a switch/wiring running inside that can handle the comparativly low amperage of the relay. The main power is run through the relay switch. Much safer.

Just have somebody buy it for you in the States and then ship it to you in Canada...just a thought.

- Removed the inner fender splash cover for easier access.
- Removed black plastic cover.

- Drilled the hole from underneath to use the existing L-shaped bracket.

- Used the existing screw through the drilled hole to mount one side of the bracket.

- Attached the fog light to the bracket.

- Routed the wires inside the cabin to the switch. I chose the switch location to the right of the steering wheel column cover. I broke the plastic switch the kit came with so I installed a different one from Kragen.

- And the final product...

Special thanks goes to Murman for helping me out with troubleshooting with the wiring
I just received my fog lite kit, pilot...same as yours, and I was wondering if you removed the front wheels to have more room to work? Also, could you tell me where and how you routed the wired into the cabin? May you be able to post more photos to help me?

You have to be very careful if you don't know where your going, because you may not get there.

Anyone with this kit or another? Is it possible to install without removing the wheels?

Have not started job yet and not sure if I need to remove the wheels? Can it be done without removing the wheels? Also, is there a good hoisting point that will lift whole front end and place jack stands?

Anyone with ideas to ease in this installment?

I'm sure you can do it without removing the wheels but it'll be very tight and hard to maneuver. Sorry, not sure about jack stands as I did mine one at a time.

There aren't any places to lift the whole front end at once, you can use the stock jack points and put stands under the control arms.

Thank you both. Guess I will just lift one wheel off at a time. Btw, TJN tell me the fog lite kit is not as involved as those photos you posted ? I do get the general idea though.

Done and Done...not so bad. They are super brite....and I feel like they are a bit warm to the touch when on...hmm.

Sorry to drag this one up again...

So in this case, a relay was not used. Just the default wiring along with a switch.

But an optimal install would have a relay first, then to a switch?

Cheers,

J.
