Which polish/wax???

I am pretty sure this has been discussed before, but I am too lazy to search it, but what polish/wax do you use? I keep seeing the ad for Turtle Wax Ice and wondering if anyone here has used it??? I usually stick with Meguiars, but that Ice looked interesting.

I aqquired a bunch of detailing products before kids when I had more free time. I learned a lot @ Autopia.org. I use S100 SEPC and paste wax. They both work extremely well by hand. They are very easy to use and take very little time to apply/remove. The wax lasts 3-6months which is outstanding for a carnuba. They are cheap ($10 & 15) and readily availible @ local Harley Davidson stores. Those with some quality microfiber towels make the process a breeze.

If you have time, might as well clay it too.

Meguiars if you want to pamper your Patriot.

I usually use turtlewax's newer lineup. They've done a lot to reduce the amount of gunk and buildup their previous lineup (which is still available) used to leave behind.

I'm sure there are others that are very good as well.

Just bought some liquid Ice this week, waiting for the weekend to try it. After many trys, I had to give it a go...considering if you f**k up around the trimming or door handles, it turns white, and getting it off is a bi**h...I'll let ya know on Monday, providing the weather is good....Craigman

Turtle Wax, the regular green stuff, works great, lasts a long time and is $3 a bottle and can conservatively cover 3 vehicles. Ice is like $17.

Supergard

Guys over in the UK we have the option of having the body and interior Supergarded, this means that you do not need to wax or polish the vehicle for 3 years. They also sell some great products online as well including the acid rain shampoo and alloy wheel foam cleaner plus protector from brake dust deposits.

http://www.conceptchemicals.com/zirconite/

similar to supaguard. buy this off us or dealer close to you and apply it yourself instead of paying the dealer Ģ200-Ģ600!!!!!

concept of course say zirconite is a better product than supaguard.

hope this helps. mark.

I have to point out that the brand of product only makes about 10% difference in how the vehicle looks. The rest of looks comes down to what types of products, the order, the techniques used. That's why I have a little different priorities when chosing what to use. I love Zaino. Have a bunch of it, I think 5 bottles of Z2/Z5. That's enough for probably 40 years of waxing/sealing. I don't have the time to use it.

S100 - 20 minutes for the paint claner and 10 for the wax. The only negatives I have are the cleaner leaves a slight residue on black trim and the wax does not repel dust a much as Zaino.

Meguiars has about 15 different waxes, not including polishes, cleaners, and other paint detailing products.. Most are good, some are great, others suck. Don't give into brand-whores.

I use Liquid Glass. Sure itīs expensive but last much longer than any wax.
I use it 1-2 times in spring and one time in leaf. Thatīs enough.
There are guys out there using Liquid glass 5-7 times within a couple of days to have a nice showcar effect but thatīs too much for me.
