Important:

Some bulletins may apply only to specific production dates, models and/or equipment. Not all affected vehicles will exhibit described problems, failure rates may vary widely. Not all bulletins involve repair issues, some are issued for informational purposes only.

TSB's are not Recalls. "Preventive" service repairs will normally not be performed under warranty if a vehicle is not exhibiting the particular symptom or problem.

For vehicles that are out of warranty, any TSB related work that is performed is usually charged at the normal dealer service rate.

Milous,

Great info.... But the links for the recalls are not working....

Very nice information. I have just read every single one of them, and have printed off the ones i feel may potentially apply to me right now. I am going to investigate them, and address them if need be.
I do know the chattering rear liscense plate frame they put on the car with their advertising pisses me off.
Next oil change I am going to ask them to fix it. If they suggest its not a warranty issue, I will happily supply them with this SR I printed off.
Finally, I find myself in the driver's seat, and welcome the opportunity to drive this whole process with these guys. Before, I always had to just take their word for it, while i walked away grumbling.

Thanks, Milous !!
Nice to have you back. You have always been a wealth of information. Especially when it comes to Jeeps.
And that license plate rattle.....could never figure out why the factory didn't put rubber stops on the bottom like every other vehicle. My rear plate put a nice scratch on my steel blue paint. Dumb me for not putting something there in the first place. DUH !

I still wonder why the flappin hood and the leak problems doesn´t show up in the list.
I guess there are more reports here about those problems than the ones mentioned in the list.
Does Jeep know about these problems? It doesn´t look so or?

Great site, great guys, thanks
Milou, with your precious information I was able to confront my dealer to the existence of the ESP / TSB. He was not aware, he's waiting for the french version and has to update his scan machine to version 9.03 to be able to run the ESP flash program. He's on version 5 presently. Will keep pushing...second oil change coming.

Any one knows how a dealer updates his hardware and software to be at most recent patches availability for his customers?

Why isn't he up to date? Using a old version program doesn't offer this TSB is what he realizes.

Told me there would be a recall. Will tell him not waiting for recall,

Want TSB 05-400-08 flashed in my patriot's computer as quick as possible.

will be back....

As far as I know there will not be a recall for this issue. Your dealer can easily download the latest scan software and the necessary flash files for this repair. Is there an alternate dealer that you can check with?

Printing and going to the dealer to make sure that all are taken care of when i have free time soon.

I got it done. Before, I could hold the button down as long as I want and all that'd happen is the partial ESP off, when the light comes on.

I took it in and they flashed it (And also made my horn stop honking when I use the key lock) now the when I hold the ESP button down, it'll chime and 'ESPOFF' shows up in the Odo, and it doesn't interrupt any driving at all.

So I go down to the dealer today, TSB in hand an see what they have to say. First I told them about it and they said never heard of it. I explained the entire thing and they said well you would have to pay to have this done. I told I don't think so here it is the TSB have a read and when can I make my appointment. :) Got my appointment tomorrow morning and its free. Just goes to show you how useful the info is. the dealer will try to screw everychance they get it seems to me. Thanks so much to all who have posted stuff like this on here. Cudos to all! Thanks!

So I went down today to have the ESP reprogramed and its all done. Fought like hell TSB in hand and got it done for free. Almost came to blows but I was right and they know it. I went out of there with a smile on my face. I just can't belive how poor these guys treat people over stuff as simple as this. They argued back and forth that these TSB's shouldn't be in my possesion etc... What a Joke! Well I'm not done yet. Control arm bolts next on friday.
Wish me luck.

Well after going dowm there TSB in hand. Yet another fight with my dealer. They refused to look at it as they said my vehichle had no RECALL against it for this. I was tired of fighting with them and told them they could go pound sand. I will be taking my PAT to the next dealer 125KM away and they will look at it for me. Pretty sad! No wonder these North american car manufactures are in such trouble. Go to your local Honda or Toyota dealer and see what kind of service you get. I have had both in the past and never once did I get an argument with them. As a matter of fact they go out of there way to make sure you are absolutley satisfied. Tell ya, this might be the last time I buy North american again. Only trouble is, I really like the Jeep line up so I might have to live with it. Oh well! Will see how it goes at the next dealer. Sticker.

Took my Patriot to the dealer today to get the "EPS Off" flash. He gave me a hard time wanting me to explain why I wanted it. After about 20 minutes of haggling and looking at the car to show him he agreed. He looked up and found the recall for the control arm bolts.
He told me it would take over an hour. I was in a little hurry and only wanted the flash as it takes only minutes. He said either both or none. So I got them both done and the car works fine. So here's a dealer who actually wants to do warranty work.

Is it really considered a recall?...I thought recalls would be handled through a postal mailing.
If its a TSB, then I think what happens is, if the issue is prevelant on the car brought in, then the TSB is brought into play. I could be wrong.
Im glad you had no issues getting it addressed regardless. Staying on top of these things, is a must.
Im in Markham..what dealership did you go to?
Thanks
