Patriot SRT4 show car in the build (serious modifications inside)

Guys, Girls... Just picked up my new car, a logical upgrade from the gracefully ageing Cherokee I've owned for the last 3 years.

Its a brand new 2008 build, Jeep Patriot Sport turbo diesel 6 speed manual. The engine and gearbox is the same as in the current model VW golf 2.0, at least Jeep done something right there!

I was almost going to buy a Nitro, but the patriot is far better value and less common

Stereo is standard, interior trim is standard and wheels are standard. not for long!

I have already bought the premium "mygig" system as found in the 300c's grand cherokees and nitros. The "MyGIG" is a canbus run double din touch screen DVD, CD, MP3, Sirius, Radio, USB, Ipod controller and has a built in 20gb hard drive which can be set to "rip" CDs upon insertion of a new cd. The rest of the system is soon to be as follows:

Interior:
Proposed...
Headunit: Clarion HXD2
Front speakers: Morel Supremo 6 set
Amplifiers: 2x Rockford T1500BD
2x Rockford T400.4
Subwoofers: 2x12s (Boston G512)
Leather/suede retrim by Sew Fine Trimming

Current...
CD/Ipod stock headunit with 4 door mounted 6x9s
cloth trim

Exterior:
Proposed... Bling Kit... Chrome grille, door handles, mirrors and PATRIOT lettering for the bumper cutout. 22 inch wheels and tyres

Current... Towbar, Side Steps, 20% tint, bonnet protector, rain guards on all windows, nudge bar (wont be fitted)

Watch this space

and my old jeep

Oh, and the steering wheel is on the RIGHT/CORRECT side

Welcome broadz and enjoy the boards!
Congrats for the right choise of color too!!!
Eventhough the logical upgrade from your old Cherokee would be the new Liberty, I fully agree with your purchase.

PS I almost buy a Nitro too...

the original jeep badge is still in place, I just bought a badge off ebay and stuck it in the right spot. something small makes a big diference, looks sh!t with no jeep badges on the front

thats pretty much the look i wanted, if the SRT8 wheels were 22s i would have got them.
The interior trim work will be styled on, you guessed it.. the SRT8 Cherokee.

Euro bumper, what different to the US domestic market version?

Euro bumper is lower, due to EU standards for safety.
It's not good for off road, but it is perfect for a street warrior look...
It has different air intake and fog lites openings, also.

I was thinking of taking the jeep badge off the front of the hood and putting them on the front hood /bug protector.
How did you do it?

Thanks for the bug deflector lettering idea. I just brought one back from the States with me and was wondering how I was going to get around that problem. Not sure how fast you like to drive, (I do a lot of motorway mileage) have you found any extra noise with the window deflectors?
Great looking Jeep by the way.

I've now got the chrome mirrors, door handles and PATRIOT lettering on the rear bar.

Does anyone know where you can buy the startech 7 piece chrome grille inserts from?

Side bars look cool but do they lower ground clearance?
