Model P the new model T?

When my garage was built way back in 1917,
the Model T was the "Everyman car".
And while the Patriot is light years ahead in technological advances,
there is a simplicity both cars share.

After all the original G.P. moniker was for a general purpose vehicle
which the current model does quite well.

It's a bit of a tight fit for my BLACK SPIDER
3 inches wider that the T
and every time I pull the car in the garage,
I imagine the many different cars that found shelter here over the years.

This is why I love the Pat. Yesterday I was outside on my friends porch during half-time talking about my recent purchase. I told her everything in the Patriots category either 1. Looked dumb 2. Looked dumb and was too expense. She couldn't agree more, we might have a new Pat owner soon I think.

I dig its simplicity so much I really wish other car manufactures would stop for a second and reconsider their designs. I'm no old timer either! 29 whole years, cheers.

My grandfather had a turn-of-the-century carriage house behind his home. It was about 12 by 20 feet and had a second floor hay loft where you could shovel hay down to the horse stall below. It evolved with time. The horse was replaced with a Model A, and a grease pit was installed under the car.

This was in a big city, and as I recall, the carriage house survived into the 1960's, when the house was torn down and replaced with an apartment building. I can still remember the aroma of the place.

Model MK. Wonder what the Mk and T stand for. I live in an area where simple life and simple ways to live go hand in hand. We stay under the radar up here if we have longer teeth and we enjoy every part of life. Simple purchases are welcome and the Patriot is a shoe in. This vehicle is made for this terrain. I nordic ski and some trails are way in the woods only accesible by 4 by 4 vehicles. We have this belief that when the world craps out better be prepared. My feeling is that cars are not so attractive purchases anymore but suvs and cuvs are. The wealthy are pulling away from us and we have to make sound decisions because we have our own backs only. When the Patriot and Compass pack up for the rice fields, we will miss the production of the vehicles and hope Jeep has something to accompany their absence.

I love the thought of the 'riot becoming a sleeper classic. I would like to hold on to mine for as long as possible. Keep it running and running capable. The styling are classic americana and the rugged good looks are unbeatable.
