Newbie

Picked up a bare bones 2013 Patriot a few days ago.
2.4 engine,
5 speed manuel trans
F.W.D.
17" tires,
basic radio.....
LOVE IT!!!!!

Sold my 25 year old Volvo 240,
and feels like I'm driving on air.

Got the "own a VW" $1000.00 dollar discount (who knew)????

I think this car is the best kept secret out there.
Based on so many reviews one would never know what a great car this is, so to those who are thinking about one,
take the test drive and see for yourself.

And No I do not work for Chrysler.

Time will tell if I made the right choice,
but it feels like I got a very good car (Jeep)
for a very good price.

I'll be back for updates on the new adventure.

I wish mine had the 5 speed, but other than that, I'm also very impressed with my Jeep so far. The handling is great and the 2.4L feels strong even with my CVT. I can imagine the 5 speed being fun to drive! Enjoy! Share some photos if you can!

Enjoy! I was kind of curious how the manual drove. Nothing local though. I like the control you have with it. Have Fun!

Welcome!

Sort of surprised that where you live you didn't go for at least the 4x4.

Simple

The idea was to keep it simple,
which is getting hard to do these days.

Sort of like a modern version of a Model A.

This car gets me where I need to go
as well as a more expensive car will do.
I am a self confessed asphalt queen (king)
so no need for 4 wheel drive,
I let the snow plows do the work for me.

The clutch is light and like butter,
and shifting keeps things fun.
And of course the classic styling of the jeep is timeless.

With all the dolphins cars on the road
you can still spot a jeep from 100 yards.

She (yes she is a she) is jet black for that menacing look.
Off for a drive,
it's going to be 45 today (Jan 3rd 2013) so a cruise down the highway with the window down will be a rare winter treat.

Some of us, especially myself, live in areas where shortcuts mean 20-30 mile savings on a trip if we take rough ground. Unplowed roads. Would I risk a ditching to see if the Pat can do it? Probably because I think the little Jeep is worthy. Wish I had better tires. I think I will have this Jeep forever if it doesn't disappoint which means next tires will be grippers.

Road trip

Took a drive to Canada.
the open and empty highway was perfect for varied speeds,
and a nice break-in.
Gas mileage was 29 and the ride was smooth as silk.

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on the new Jeep.
Mine too, bare bones, but 2.0 and loved also.

That picture of yours looked awfully familiar!... LOL

Did you get any bacon when you were up in Canada?

No bacon, but almost got stuck in Canada....
No passport, no birth certificate,
lots of questions
and was not sure they would even let me back in the good old U.S.A.

Finally back on the road and home in two hours.

I've had the Jeep for two weeks now,
450 miles,
and more impressed after 8 inches of snow, and no problems driving.

I do have an annoying rattle in the back door "ta ta ta" but thats what the warranty is for.

This the best kept secret for overall value,
and it's too bad many people fall for the negative reviews.
I say go test drive one today,
and get one before they are gone.

This is the first new car I ever bought,
and thus far I am a very satisfied customer
