I'm not too sure what could be causing this, but I wanted to know if anyone else has had this issue with the horn. I drive a 2010 Jeep Patriot and the horn just started randomly going off as I came to a stop while driving. It continued to go off randomly even after it was parked and the engine was turned off. Anyone experience anything similar and/or know how to fix this problem?
any accident history? any reason you think someone would have taken the steering wheel airbag apart? sounds like the horn connector on the airbag is grounding out by accident. but it could also be an issue with the clockspring.
Sorry to hear about your current experience with your inadvertent horn. How often does the horn go off? Have you had this issue diagnosed at a local FCA certified dealership? Let me know if you would like any assistance setting up an appointment.
I am experiencing the same problem with my 2010 Jeep Patriot Sport model....I have looked for the horn under the hood to simply unplug it but I am not certain of the location!!
The horn is located behind the front fascia below the drivers headlight. You might be able get enough access to unplug it by taking the plastic liner out of the drivers side wheel well.
