Even for a rendering it could be worse. For a guess it sucks!

Photoshop, and a bad one, of a Fiat/Jeep grill on a new Santa Fe.:zzz

If it were to look like that I'd wait for the Pat replacement.

Rendering also refers to a conceptual drawing as well.

Its not the grill that bothers me: its the overall shape. It seems that Jeep designers are 'leaders' at following trends. "Gee, everyone else is making egg-shaped crossovers. We better get on the bandwagon. Lets put a 7-slot grill on one."

What's so wrong with what C&D called "rectilinear"?

IMO, Jeep needs to have the Wrangler, the GC, a solid rear axle Cherokee (w/ an optional turboed 4cyl diesel or a standard 3.2L V6, either paired to a 8 speed AT or 6 speed MT, and IFS), and a small entry level AWD vehicle similar in size to a Forester or Crosstrek, Subaru. With just 4 vehicles they would run the market. That's just me...but hey, what do I know? I'm only a buyer of their product........

Isn't it really about the drivetrain and its Trail-Rated performance?
So what if it looks like a Volvo wagon, as long as it doesn't drive like one.
Still no two-door Jeeps on the drawing board, how can it be a Cherokee without a two-door?

Idk if you've noticed but jeep has strayed far from the 80's and 90's and I doubt we'll ever see them go back so IMO were lucky to even see a Cherokee model again...

*shrug* I could care less about any one particular nameplate, "Cherokee" or otherwise, what I care about is Jeep looks that set them apart from the rest of the curvy crossovers. I know why they do it, that's what most car buyers want is that look so it only makes sense money-wise. I just think if I'm driving a Jeep, it should look like a Jeep. Not a Rogue/Tiguan/Escape/Equinox/etc. This really tells me that when I go to step up in size from my Patriot and want to stay in the Jeep family with rugged looks that the Wrangler is my single option. Everything else will be sleek and streamlined, which I don't want. I'd be curious to see the Jeep fan's upheaval if they ever bastardize the Wrangler with aerodynamics.

This is promising though? That select drive 4x4 system they have in the GC?

*Edit: man I hope the front of this thing looks good cause I dont mind it's body lines. It's GC/Compass-esc but I don't mind that look. The interior is so-so to me. It's too sharp lookin should be more like the current MK interiors

My guess is price point will be no where near similarly equipped (loaded) Patriots.

Must admit I am a push over for dual exhaust tho

haha me too the side and rear dont appear to look too bad imo but the front and interior (and suspension obviously) will determine it's value to me. It looks like a very similar platform to the Pat (since afterall it is built on the Dart platform).

Hmmm if the headlights end up being shapped like the ones in this rendering but were pulled down a few more inches I may like it...I'm a sucker for the new Subarus styling (2013 Crosstrek, 2012+ Imprezas, 2014 Forester). Their headlights look kinda like this ones.
