North central PA winter meet, 2013

This coming weekend would be cool, although I don't have my Jeep with me this week, the snow is deep.

Was tough coming out in the Tracker. pushed snow with the bumper the whole way, and sometimes the front fender. I'll post a video soon.

Well, just found out I have to travel to DC on Feb. 16-17, so that weekend is out for me.

Plenty of snow to play in now if you folks want to do this soon.

We could try for the weekend in January that the snowmobile club is having Vintage snowmobile races.

So I thought it would be easier going up my drive last Saturday, since I put tracks in the snow leaving the Sunday before. But when I got there, no luck, drifting snow and snowmobiles made it so I could not even see where I drove out at all. Was tough going up Saturday, but with 4 chains I did make it up the hill, only to get high centered going onto the snowmobile trail. Good thing I carry a long handled shovel, and was able to dig it out till the tires hit again, and drove the rest of the way in.

I did video the drive out from the week before, in my Tracker, was Dec. 30th, and about 20 plus inches of snow. I'll post the video here, even though it never looks bad in videos.

North central PA is fairly centrally located between, Cleveland, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, and Philly. The only weekend out for me to do this is Feb. 16-17, any other weekend could work.

If we don't do this in the next month, there may not be any snow left to play in.

February 23 would work.

This would have been a good weekend. Lots of snow on top of ice, even with chains was tough to get up the hill. Snowmobiles out in force.

If anyone is still interested in this, the next weekend should still be good, but warming trend on the way.

This weekend would be a good test, lot's of snow over a couple inches of ice. Here's a link to the local snowmobile snow cam, just about a foot today.

Weather looks good for the weekend. 33 with some snow Friday. 44 and mostly sunny Saturday. 42 and clouds for Sunday. So snow may not last too long.
