still new to site

Hi all what a great site i'm Pete from Derbyshire UK and firstly wish everybody a happy new year for 2013 have been registered for sometime but never had time to communicate however i would like to try and purchase a workshop manual or something similar for a 2009 patriot 2.0 crd which will give me info on most of the mechanical parts on which this vehicle is built with eg; engine is a VW and so on, as i intend to do a lot of my own servicing and upgrades, so can anybody help ? it would be most appreciated. I have tried one of the advertised on ebay but as in most cases there is very little or nothing when it comes down to the Patriot i find it very frustrating especially as i think the Patriot is a great vehicle to drive and have intensions of keeping it for some time

Welcome, Pete! I have a 2008 and couldn't find a printed service manual anywhere. If you search this site there are threads regarding a Patriot Service Manual that you can download and burn to a CD/DVD. That is what I ended up doing and it has been very helpful to me.

Have you got a scanner by any chance. Don't know if I need OBD2, EOBD or VAGCOM. Or maybe wireless dongle and an app for the ipad.

FYI: To get the Service Manual to work for me, I had to run Internet Explorer in Version 7 mode. Just press F12, and change the Browser Mode from IE9 to IE7, then refresh it, and it should work OK after that. hth

HI to everyone and many thanks for your replies i will try the link and i have a fault code reader Gendan GCR 05 EOBD bought here in the UK but not used it yet however when i was ordering it i spoke with the manufacturer told him it was for 2 vehicles 2008 smart 451 and of course the Patriot and he assured me that this unit would do. He reckons i could reset the 451 service light but then the 451 had to go in for it's service so again never used it but as soon as i use it i will let you know, i have another source who has access to probably one of the best units going (including blutooth) which will do for about any vehicle as it's his job and again when i have all info i'll post it here on this site
