Bought some winter tires...

Just ordered the Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V1s

Got the 225/65/17 size.

I've never had snow tires before, so I am interested to see how they handle compared to the typical all season tires I have driven on in every winter since I have had a car. I will probably buy a new set of wheels/tires for the spring/fall/summer, The Yokohama Geolanders have great reviews, just have not quite found the wheels I want.

Anywho, once I get my winter tires on I will be selling my 215/65/17 Goodyear Wrangler SR-As. They will make a good spare tire to get you through to the next set of tires. I will be selling them very cheap. PM me if interested.

I will also be doing a full write-up as the winter progresses on the new tires.

I think you will like them.

I put winter tires/wheels on my PAT (225 70 16) about 850 miles ago, after our first snow storm. No snow since then, but lots of cold days. The winter tire rubber compound is softer, so it contacts the road better than all season compound. This also leads to less noise...

Our side streets are pretty icy around here and my wife almost got into trouble with our 99 Cherokee and its half worn All Season Michelin LTX M+S tires. The Cherokee without ESP was actually scary to drive on ice with those tires. Yesterday I bought 4 studded winter tires (Hercules Avalanche X-treme) and 4 black steel wheels for the Cherokee and I figure it cost a lot less money than an injury accident with 4 more months of icy roads.
