Patriot Transfer Box Fire & Failure
Our Patriot had a replacement transfer box in October 2010. The original one was leaking. In April there was a fire under the box just before a lot of mechanical clanging. I had an extinguisher so I saved the vehicle. Has anyone experienced the same problem?

I've not heard of anything like that before. Do you have the diesel or the petrol engine?

We have a diesel. MPG started dropping off dramatically over the past six months. Difficult to reverse. Also started to axle hop and drone up hills. Garage found nothing. Then the fire!
