Is it at a dealership, I presume? Do they have a 4x4 on the lot that you like?

People here LOVE their patriots. You can too!

The Patriots get awesome gas mileage. Some get the mpgs right away, some of us have had to go through a break-in period to get them.

You can't beat the price, really. Mine is an almost fully loaded 4x4, and I couldn't have gotten everything that I did for the price that I got on another vehicle.

Some of us have had issues, some of us have had no issues at all. I presume that the Patriot is right in line with most new vehicles...not every one comes off the assembly line perfect...some may have hidden flaws that require discovery and fixing.

The only thing that I want to caution you about is that this is a Jeep with a small engine. If you're looking for speed or lots of power, you might want to think about other options. The Patriot won't drive like your Wrangler. It is its own machine. Make sure that you test drive the Patriot and really drive it. If you have a heavy foot, or if you accelerate hard, make sure to drive the Patriot like that and take measure. The CVT can "whine" at high RPMs...there have been a lot of comments on here about that. Most have gotten used to it and accepted it, some don't experience it, and a random few haven't been able to accept it and have moved on.

Now. All that being said I'll advise you to peruse the forums and see what everyone else has said about their Patriots. I think that you'll find that we love our Patriots. Most wouldn't trade them for anything (me included.) And make sure that you test drive the heck out of the Patriot that you are seriously considering.

Good luck and keep us posted!

thanks for the quick reply I appreciate the feedback!
The price is the best I have ever seen or heard of and the it is brand new. Part of a big incentive going on now with the shifting of chyrsler I think. I guess really my main concern was getting a JEEP without 4wd. Almost feel like I'm breaking a code with myself of some sort lol. I have had many jeeps. Have a 1990 Wrangler now. have had a couple cheerokees and 1981 Scrambler. But mostly have had them as fun cars and not as my primary daily driver. I need a car, love the wrangler but for what i do it isn't enough for my business.

Guess I'll run over and test drive it again.
All feed back is appreciated.

...hung on concepts...

Well, we haven't made fun of any 2wd Patriots. Yet.

Good luck. The lifetime drivetrain warranty was a big selling point for us. When it came down to the wire and we were actually getting ready to get my Jeep, just to be fair I wanted to check out the Ford Escape and Mercuary Milano, too. Hubby said, "Don't bother. I'm sold on the lifetime warranty, and if you don't get your Jeep, I'll never hear the end of it. Let's just go to the Jeep dealership."

I haven't regretted my purchase at all. It will probably be the last brand-new vehicle that I ever buy. I got it with everything that I wanted and absolutely love it.

well... I am a huge JEEP fan always have been. Still take my 90 Wrangler to the everglades and mess around. Lifetime Warranties are good as long as there is a company left to back it. Sounds like it might be ok!? The other car in the running is a Subaru Forester.

Am going to run out now to the dealerships again but am going to check this forum from my iPhone just in case there is more feedback on my dilemma )

peace.

pss> Im looking for a woman too if you have a sister LOL.
Women that appreciate good SUVs, Jeeps, etc seem to be elusive down here

Hi jeeeps,
I've had my AWD Pat since August 2008, and still completely love it. I was hesitant about not buying the Freedom Drive II, but so far have not been disappointed. It's not like I go off-roading........on purpose, anyway....and the few times that I've gotten myself a little bit stuck (parking in sand at the beach), the Freedom Drive I was good enough to get me out. I routinely get 29 mpg, with a high of 31 mpg (a few times).
The only adjustment to my driving is that I need to allow myself more time to merge into 70 mph traffic while going up a steep hill. I can live with that, no problem!

a. - your own point d. answers your a., doesn`t it?
b. most people get up to 30 mpg with their Pats
c. imagination has one great advantage - anything is possible
d. see a.
e. 9 out of 10 Patriot owners recommend the Jeep Patriot as being a really, really, really good car

And just for your info - us europeans have to pay twice the US price for a Patriot and with only a 2 year basic warranty - at least that`s what I got, some EU countries may have better ones.

well... I test drove the Pat and the Compass today.
It felt a little underpowered. it felt good to be behind the wheel of a jeep suv again. The compass and Pat are identical inside. Or at least it seems to me.
I got involved in something else and got there in time to test drive those 2 and a subaru, but then ran out of time. The offer to me is open until tomorrow at closing. The price is def in the opposite direction of what the Europeans pay.

I drove a base model. Mostly due to the unbelievable price offered on it.
Even as a base I could still that basic functional feeling from having a Jeep.
Again my main concern was the power and features, but again features I kind of knew already.

Thanks everyone for weathering my JEEP/car buying dilemmas (and other dilemmas...lol) I know Jeeps rock but had no idea there were cool people like this banding together with their patriots. Good to see...

Time for a little more reflection....(miller time)
