OBD Diagnostics?

Since you mentioned it,
New to patriot,
2 days and 100 miles on it,
Does the Pat have a way to read Trouble codes without an OBD reader?

Neon had a way, turn key on off 3 times and count how many times check engine light flashes,

Does the pat have anything similar?

scared myself yesterday,
car wouldnt start,
would turn the key, engine would rev to 2K rpms, then immediately shut itself off,
after 10-15 minutes of cussing, ready to call the dealer, etc...
realized i was trying to start the Pat with my Dodge Neon key,
ooooppppps

That works on most Chrysler, Jeep, & Dodge cars & trucks. Something they have done since the early days of computers, and as far as I know they are the only auto maker that does it. The key trick only works for OBDII codes though, it wont display manufacturer specific codes, P1XXX & higher and it wont display codes from any of the other computers.

I am new here (and hope to pick my 2010 Patriot up tom after work!)...I am coming from a Saab 9-2x Aero, I have been intensely modifying that through the ECU with my OBDII cable and laptop. Is there any sort of software available to tune and/or diagnose?

TIA -AJ

ok so i cant post a thread yet because it said my account hasn't been activated or something.
anyway he's whats going on I think its suspension related, as I took it to autozone and it had no error code although the (!) blinks 75 times. anyways I was going camping this past saturday night and was driving el patriot up a pretty steep hill, it was hot out and it wasnt to steep, long story short it pussed out. i'd gas it, it would rev to 2k and not to a thing. so I let her cool off and took her back down the hill. acted like all was fine. next day get back to town alright. im taking it easy on her. almost home wierd vibrations at 35 mph. kind of hear a clicking sound/slight thump feeling now when it gets to about 20mph only does it once but always at 20. so since it had no error codes thinking maybe wheel bearing? some sort of suspension issue anyway Im pissed and just want to burn the thing at this point. any info would help thanks much

Maybe just a stone stuck in your tire. Did the same thing for mine. Also, check your tires, maybe one is bulged due to damage.
