Very nice! You know Jeeps attract other Jeeps! Would like to see that color on the Patriot might be a good throw back with all the talk about white wagon wheels going on around here. BTW did you go to Molly's Cupcakes while you where there? We sat in traffic for 2 hours at 4:00 p.m. on a Friday night to get some cupcakes once.
I don't know J-truck evolution that well, but it's a popular swap to put the earlier "rhino" grill on the later trucks. Just another consideration. Here's a Commander with an interesting photochop. Coulda been cool.
One problem with swapping to the Rhino chaser grill is the faceplate is different. When the faceplate was actually the front of the car they took care in stamping it so the area around the grill did not wrinkle. On later models, they did just one quick stamp and let the metal wrinkle, changed to the square headlights, and cut away part of the top where the centralized grill would mount. There are also some mounting brackets welded to the faceplate for the modern grill. All these changes are easily hidden by modern grill parts. Finding original face plates in good condition is difficult. They tend to rust out under the turn signals.
