Hi Everyone,

I'm in the Upstate New York area and placed an order for a Patriot 4 X 4 Limited last week. (As of yesterday, the one week mark, I'm in "BG" status). Inferno Red Pearl with the Pebble Beige interior, CVT, Driver Convenience Group and Sunroof. I didn't opt for the CVT2L with off-road group as my dealer though it might delay the order. He did a 250 mile radius search and none of those he found (and it wasn't many) had the Off-Road Transmission package. I never intended to take it off road anyway so I took his advice. I hope I don't miss that "Trail-Rated" badge, though...

Currently have a 2004 Liberty Limited (with only 15,700 miles I might add) which was the first Jeep I've ever owned and quickly became the favorite vehicle I've ever owned (and there have been MANY). If you are at all familiar with this region of NY, you know we get a ton of snow and the 4 X 4 option has now become a "must have" for me.

I discovered this forum over last weekend and have loved reading everyone's stories and vicariously living through everyone's "pain" as they wait for their orders. I was told 8-10 weeks, but judging by what I've been seeing here, it sounds like it will be slightly less than that.

Does anyone think it's odd that there are a gazillion TV commercials for the Patriot (I'm even being assaulted with web page ads) yet there is no inventory, like, anywhere? I'm thinking this has got to increase demand so maybe they're ramping up production.

Will hopefully keep you all posted on the progress of the "journey".

I have only ever seen maybe 2 commercials for it! Probably a good thing, would have made the waiting more difficult!

Welcome to the Patriot Family! You'll like it much more than the Liberty!

Thanks Jeepgrl. I have only seen two different Patriot commercials but they repeat them a LOT...

I think you could get away without the FDII. you won't need the low gear ratio to get through snow for the most part. I've never had to use 4wd-L to get through snow in my Wrangler. The only disadvantage to not having the FDII is the ground clearance will be 1" less without it.

I was told 8-10 weeks for delivery when I ordered mine in February. It came in just under 6 weeks. you should have it less than 8 weeks. Especially since they have started increasing the production of the Patriots.

I used 4WD-Low all of like 2x in my old wranglers. I hope yours comes in quickly, but I was told 6-8 weeks and it took 10--and I ordered mine in January... like, the day after they were available for ordering... it was worth the wait though.

I've only seen the commercial with the coyote, and I've only seen it three times. Seems to me that they're not marketing this vehicle very much. On the other hand, I keep seeing the Jeep Days commercial, but you only get a fleeting glimpse of the Patriot in that.

Yeah--that's the one I see the most too. Perhaps they aren't marketing it yet because they are having a difficult time keeping up with orders. There are a lot of us out there, those of us who knew about it in advance. They are probably so busy fulfilling special orders they don't aren't getting them out there on the lots... for a sales person, you wouldn't want someone to come on the lot looking for something you don't have--they'll just go to another dealer!

Also don't under-estimate the power of word-of-mouth. Except for those in a harrumph about the heated mirrors, as a group we Patriot owners are quite pleased with our purchases. That's pretty remarkable considering how difficult it has been to test drive one with the exact trim-level and transmission/engine combination.

Essentially we're buying them sight-unseen and still loving them. ;)

Yup--I bought mine sight-unseen... didn't lay eyes on one until I laid eyes on mine actually! Love it.

True--WOM is very powerful!

Haven't seen any commercials for the Patriot here - in Canada.
Not a single sighting on the road yet either.

Thanks for the warm welcome...I'll be checking in from time to time with status updates. For now it's just the waiting. I am optimistic that the Patriot will arrive sooner rather than later.

Rictus58: Thanks for the comments on the FDII. I know I never used 4Lo in my Liberty, only 4HI, so I'm guessing the same pattern of usage will happen with the Patriot. That also helped shape my final decision whether to go with the Off Road Package or not.

As for the TV spots, there's two so far: one with the guys in the canoe where the woman Patriot owner picks up the coyote and puts it in the canoe and the second one is guys camping with a pup tent where the guy's buddies pick up the tent and dump the tent's occupant into the lake...keep your eyes peeled because they run these spots a lot.

They are as bad as the bobble head crap for the compass.

Besides (let me stir up some "s#*t" here)

She should have her but in a Compass, the Patriot is for guys. :)

(At least that's the info in all the car magazines)

I saw a new commercial today. Very straight forward, just the Patriot driving, no woman or canoe, or crap like that. it was good.

Just called the DCX Customer Service line and was told my new Patriot Limited order is in 'D' Status. Order was placed on 3/26/07....so it moved to 'D' status in two weeks. That seems to be much accelerated from what I've been seeing here from others.

back to what earlier posters were saying about word of mouth, if anyone does ANY research on the patriot, even just googleing it, they are bound to come across this forum and read the great reviews which will make this forum even larger! :pepper:

FYI...checked with DCX today and STILL in "D" status, with a VIN...maybe I spoke too soon (above). Monday, May 14th will be week 7. Something has to move here soon if I'm getting it in the 8-10 week timeframe quoted me by the dealer. The VIN for my Patriot indicates it will be built as an '07 model as I saw some posts elsewhere regarding end of model year production. I'm getting very antsy now...!

Finally some good news today! Reached D-1 status and the dealer says the build will be on May 21st or 22nd and I should have the vehicle on or around June 1st. Still seems like a long way off. This is clearly going to take the full 10 weeks the dealer quoted me; I'd be surprised (pleasantly, of course) if it doesn't Here's the recap:
