found these on ebay, Im not sure if they wil fit the slots on the Patriot but it would make doing a custom grill a whole lot easier than what I did. If someone has a compass and knows if the grill slots are the same size please let me know so I can take this down if they are different

The stuff is called flattened expanded metal. It can be obtained at most fabricating/welding shops in both aluminum or steel for far less than $30, or $40 with their shipping.

thats true you can find that type grill stuff at osh, ace, home depot and just about anywhere, but having it already cut to the dimensions needed is the part that is a pain in the ass and worth paying the same price for

So I messaged the seller to see if these would work for our Patriots. Turns out that they won't. However, I told them that several people might be interested and I even mentioned this site. I just received a response as follows:

The price would be $30. If you gather a few people interested I can put a word in to see if our manufacturer can custom make these for your Patriot.

So, is anybody interested? I am. Let me know. Thanks.

I would be interested.

I'm not quite clear on the installation though. It says it includes "tie-wire for an out-of-the-box installation." That hardly seems like a viable way of mounting the inserts.

Ya I agree. I I think I would try and find a better and more secure way of mounting them too
