Hi, when I bought my Jeep Patriot, I asked the dealer if I making my oil changes myself will void the waranty. They said yes and that I have to make them in a certified mechanic place or the dealer. I can't believe that it is really true. Does any of you make their oil changes themselves? What about the warranty?
Thank you.

About 21 months ago before I rolled my FDI off of the salesfloor, the GM of my stealership told me that as long as I have the receipts to back up my own oil changes and let them inspect my vehicle at 50,000 miles, my warranty would still be good. That was my stealership in Overland Park, Kansas. Not in writing but hey, he wouldn't be trying to save me money... would he?

I was told that as long as I kept receipts showing the purchase of the oil and filter, there was no problem.

Tell them to give you that in writing, or send chrysler canada an email asking the same question.
