Just bought my new Patriot. I won't get it for a few more weeks though.
It's in "D" status. Does anyone have a good guess as to how long it can take from "D" to shipped?

Limited 4x4
Light Khaki metallic
Freedom Drive I
Boston Acoustics sound system
Sirius Sat Radio
Power Sunroof
65R17 Tires

Traded in a 6 month old Compass Sport – yes that’s right ;) It didn't have 4x4, driver's convenience group or heated seats, and when I saw the Patriot, I immediately realized that I was in the wrong vehicle. Personally, I prefer the Patriot's style 100% over the Compass. Furthermore, since my Compass was black, every single mark on the paint showed in the sun. I guess black wasn't for me since I'm a neat freak. The dealer (not the same where I got the Compass) took it back and gave me a monthly payment equal to the build & price feature on Jeep.ca – including my depreciated Compass. The original dealer told me that I would have too much negative equity on the Compass to keep the payments from going up 2 or 3 hundred per month. This new place took it back as a demo and now I'm only paying 55 dollars more than I was. So much for the old place.

Congrats! I think the compass just looks like a jeep with downs syndrome really, doesnt look like a real jeep.

im a freak like that too, maybe i should refuse to want black! i guess the jeep green will still look nice... i wonder if that will display scratches generously?

I'm not sure how the green is but by far the most forgiving color in terms of scratches is silver. My last car was silver and it looked as good the day I sold it as the day it was made and this is after 3 years of being parked on a main street in the city so you can imagine how much wear and tear it saw! I also got the beige interior on the patriot because I am more concerned with the wear on the inside and I feel like beige with probably hide the dirt perfectly.

I liked the Compass and the styling grew on me. What happened is that I started regretting not getting AWD and when I started thinking about getting a new Compass, I saw the Patriot. Pulled a 180 and signed on the dotted line.

I love black cars too. I guess they're just not for me. I would think that the green would not show scratches as much. That green was my second choice. I hope that my khaki beige will show better than black as well.

Indeed, silver is the most forgiving color.
I've already owned 2 (and my girlfriend 1) silver cars. I wanted to try something new.

Phil8400,

Congrats on your new purchase....too bad you had to take a bit of a hit with the depreciated Compass...but at least you finally got what you wanted....with respect to your question regarding waiting times....Next week will be my 8th week (it may be in next week as my dealer tells me it has been shipped (KZL status)....

I think you guys are better/more paitent people in Canada, I'm not sure I could wait three months for my Pat without tearing down a dealership or something! (though I might have to..two weeks in BG status :( )

I agree. Why does D/C make those of you in Canada wait so long?

I'm not a patient guy myslef, but if my gf could wait three weeks for her Mazda 3, then I can wait too. I think we wait longer in Canada because of border related crap. In my case, it's not even there yet. It's still in prod.

Apparently Chrysler Canada won't give customers any information regarding status. All my dealer knows is the current code, but not how long it's been there. So it's anyone's guess how long it’s been in D and how long it will stay there. Dealer told me I should have it by mid-April, but do they really know? That would make 12 weeks...

Called DC today and they confirmed that I'm at KZM! ...since yesterday (April 17th)

Hopefully this is a highspeed train ;)

I just got my Jeep Green patriot today and I walked around the whole thing I did notice one scratch, but it can easily be buffed out. As for others seeing it I had to point it out to my husband and a few guys at the dealership no one could find it but me. Im a very big on details and I had to walk around twice to see it. I wanted the black but im glad it didnt work out because im in love with the green now. Its very hard to find a fully loaded limited here. We ended up having to go with a 4x4 which makes almost no since to us where we live but I guess its got its pro's for traction and such. If I would have found a black we would have bought it before i even got a chance to see how horrible scratches show up on them. If your looking to really hide scratches silver is allways the best hands down.

I think you should get some type of compensation.I know what a toll it takes on our mental state to wait such a long time for a new car.In couple of days it will be six weeks for me [it's stressfull] and appareantly my Patriot is just being produced and I should get it in couple of weeks. That would make it 8 weeks of waiting which I believe is the average time for most of DC Patriot clients.

12 weeks is a over the quarterly interest rate review, so maybe youll get some compensation that way if it EVER goes down.

my wait time was surprisingly quick... order was placed on 3/23 and yesterday my dealer said we should have it in by saturday (4/28). it's really anybody's guess. here's hoping it will actually be here on saturday.

Cool, so both of us might be sitting in our Pats by Saturday. Then the usual 48 hours (business hours) for PDI, so Wednesday would probably be the delivery date.
