I am thinking of buying the (carpeted) cargo area mat (Part # 82210796) ($70US)..for the back to help keep stuff from sliding around and add more comfort for the dog...and it will also make it easier to clean back there by simply lifting it out to shake off the dirt...

I like to have something that is custom fit to the area...

Anybody buy this accessory and have a pic?

I think I'll just buy a piece of berber carpet if needed and cut it myslef if needed, but you are right ,the plastic surface may be kind of slippery.

Actually, as it turns out, my cargo mat from my Liberty fit the Pat real well (just a slight trim off the sides)...so I'm using that...

I have one in my Caliber and it's look nice with the Dodge emblem.

I'm waiting to order the Patriot 2008 and I will take the area carpet mat.

You can buy Rubber mats that are made to be trimmed to fit to any SUV from Costco, at least that's where I bought mine from. I made a template with paper and tape and then cut the rubber mat to fit. Worked great!

I bought the cargo mat. I love it! Keeps things from sliding around back there and has been a real help with my dog - until recently I worked at an animal shelter and she would come to work with me every day.

I like the factory carpet. it serves my purposes and with coupons etc it was reasonably priced in my opinion (little less than $50 canadian). not sure of the full price but would guess $100-$120. it matches the colour nicely, fits well and reduces things sliding around. here are some pics in a beige interior with beige carpet.http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/8/23/1374441/09-08-08_1820.jpg

i have the one for my Compass......looks great and DOES keep stuff from sliding around. i've also purchased a small plastic 'crate' to keep 'stuff' from rolling around on the carpet, small bags from the grocery, etc....WORKS GREAT TOO!:smiley_thumbs_up:

(looks just like the above pics, only in a COMPASS!....i've even got the BA sound system!!)

I picked up the factory cargo carpet mat AND the compass shift knob from the jeep dealership for $68 including tax
:-)
My bud works there.
I get cost plus 10%
The carpet was like $56, the knob was like $8
